We’re excited to share that Ignite Basketball Academy is evolving into Hythe Hoops Basketball Club!

With a brand new committee and new coaching team, we’re building something even BIGGER and BETTER while keeping the same great venue and training night you know and love.

🏀 We’ll be competing competitively in the Development Basketball League!

🏀 Clear pathways to Suns and Oaks National League teams!

🏀 Opportunities available for all age groups from U10 to U18!

We’re also pleased to welcome our new coach, Jack Norman, to the team!

Available Roles (All Paid Positions)

🏀 Basketball Coaches (Level 2 Minimum)

We’re seeking Basketball England Level 2 (or higher) qualified coaches to help lead sessions across our:

- Junior Development Programmes (U6–U16)

- Central Venue League (CVL) Teams

- National League Squads - U12s to Seniors

What we offer:
- Paid coaching opportunities (sessional and seasonal)
- Supportive, family-oriented club environment
- Ongoing development and mentoring from experienced coaches
- Opportunities to progress within our National League structure

Requirements:
- Basketball England Level 2 or equivalent
- DBS checked (or willing to obtain)

🏀 Table Officials (Level 2 or 1 Minimum)

We’re also recruiting qualified table officials to support our home fixtures across youth and senior National League games.

Requirements:
- Basketball England Level 2 or 1 Table Official qualification
- Available for weekend fixtures (mainly Saturdays/Sundays)

🏀 Referees (Level 2 and 1 Minimum)

Requirements:
- Basketball England Level 2 or 1 referee Official qualification
- Available for weekend fixtures (mainly Saturdays/Sundays)

3x3 Basketball Competition – Details

Following the huge success of last year’s event, we are excited to bring back our 3x3 Basketball Competition at Redbridge Community School on 31st March, running from 9:00am – 4:00pm.

Last year’s competition attracted a high level of talent and provided excellent exposure for players and teams, with several athletes going on to secure opportunities and consideration for National League places for the following season. The event proved to be a valuable platform for player development, competition experience, and visibility at both local and national levels.
