Coach Steve led a group of hardworking Hamwics during Wednesday’s training session on the Common 🌳. With the warmer weather ☀️, the group made the most of the available shade while still putting in a strong session 💪. Well done to everyone involved!

The scorching weather hasn’t stopped Hamwics getting out there—both on home shores and abroad! 🌍🔥
Our wonderful run leaders led four groups out on Monday 👏—a fantastic turnout!
A huge congratulations to Captain Laura Lea 🎉 for picking up 1st place FV50 at last season’s CC6 🏅a brilliant achievement!
A team of Hamwics also headed to Race 3 of the RR10 series at River Hamble Country Park 🌲🏃‍♀️great effort from everyone who raced.

John Cutler began his incredible 237.27km Grand Union Canal Race effort 🚣‍♂️🔥

Ian added another Marathon Major medal in Cape Town 🥇🌍amazing!

Our Bank Holiday run leaders were back in action, guiding groups and finishing with a well earned, refreshing social drink 🍻—perfect end to a great weekend!

🏃‍♂️ Hamwic Harriers Shoutout – 17/05/2026 🏃‍♀️

It’s been another busy and brilliant week for the Hamwic Harriers, let’s dive in! 👇
Our Monday social runs were led once again by our fantastic run leaders 👏, with one group even managing to mix in a bit of fun chatting about a local/national sporting topic 🗣️⚽ along the way.

Wednesday saw Coach Si putting everyone through their paces on the Common 🌧️💪, battling through some wet conditions, great effort from all who turned out!
Saturday was a big day as we took over Southampton Parkrun 🏁, brilliantly led by our very own Run Director, Matt Goss 🙌thank you to everyone who volunteered and made it such a success ❤️.

Elsewhere, Phil took on Haverfordwest Parkrun 🏃, while Sam & Abi enjoyed the scenic Itchen Valley 🌿. Huge congratulations to Frazer and Harry for completing the Itchen Test Way 50km 🎉🔥an incredible achievement!

Sunday brought the Netley 10km 🏅, where a strong team of Hamwics represented the club with pride. Massive well done to Soul, Nesa, Kat, Harriet, Lou, Laura G, Sandrine, Sarah, James, Rachel, Kate, Karen, Laura L, Nicky, Matt, Josh, and Paul 👏👏—great running from everyone!

Nicki took on the Barry Island 10km. Great running.

🏃‍♂️ Hamwic Harriers Shoutout – 10/05/2026 🏃‍♀️
A slightly quieter week than last, but still another busy one for the Hamwic Harriers!

For those not heading to the RR10, training was led on the Common by coach Steve. The session included drills, laps and strides to keep everyone working hard.
There was a great turnout at the Itchen Valley RR10, with Dave’s photos capturing some fantastic efforts from everyone – and even the occasional Hamwic train in action 🚆.

A group of Hamwics rewarded their hard work with a well‑earned pizza night on Friday 🍕.

On Saturday at Southampton Parkrun, Kathryn Bailey reached her 400th milestone – an absolutely massive achievement. Congratulations Kathryn!

Jo headed to Itchen Valley Parkrun.

On Sunday, Phil took on the Bideford 10km, while Laura G, Sarah, Karen, Rachel and Josh tackled the Alton 10‑mile race. Course PBs all round for the Hamwic Alton crew – brilliant running and well done to everyone involved.

Hamwic Harriers – May the 4th Weekend Round Up ⭐
The Hamwic Harriers enjoyed a busy and brilliant May the 4th Bank Holiday weekend – and yes, the Force was definitely with us 💫⚔️

Josh and Rachel kicked things off by tackling the hills at the Hurstbourne Tarrant 5 Mile Race ⛰️💪
Meanwhile, an epic effort from Frazer saw him complete the 100 mile Centurion Thames Path Challenge 😮🔥 an incredible achievement and the first of many runners supported by JC over the weekend 👏

The Roman theme continued at parkrun, with Tom celebrating his 250th parkrun in style, donning fancy dress for the occasion 🏛️🎉

What a weekend for the running world! All eyes were on the London Marathon, and we were right there cheering as our fellow Hamwic Harriers smashed it out on the big stage. Let’s hit the ground running and dive into the highlights 👟✨

A big thank you to our fantastic social run leaders for guiding the groups this week 🙌
There was definitely a theme in the air… bridges everywhere! 🌉 Luckily, no troubled water—just strong running and great company.
And in a twist worthy of a sprint finish, the winners of the official-unofficial photo competition are Dave’s group… for not being on a bridge 😄👏 Standing out by doing the opposite—bold strategy, well executed!
