If yesterday’s Solent Cup win wasn’t enough for Warsash Ladies this weekend… our intrepid National League team went to Bracknell early today for a 10am start. Magnificently went 3-1 up after the singles round but Bracknell fought back in the doubles rubbers to make it 3-3.
It then went to an exciting ‘Shoot Out’ scenario to decide the match. Georgie Bartholomew and Jo-Anne Downing brilliantly completed their marathon weekend by winning their singles tiebreaks and getting us the win!
What superstars ! Time to go back to work for a rest tomorrow ladies 🤩

Congratulations to our wonderful Warsash ladies team Georgie Bartholomew Jo-Anne Downing Martina Kozuh and Liz Sherwood who won the mighty Solent Cup yesterday!
They battled strong winds and a tough Wi******er side bringing the trophy home for the club, representing the Portsmouth & District league.
This is the first time our Ladies team have conquered the contest between the Portsmouth and Southampton league winners and hope it is the first of many - but hopefully on not such a windy day next time !

We are looking forward to our Ladies 1st team playing in the Solent Cup this coming Saturday. If anyone would like to support them the matches start at 11am at Thornden Tennis Club.

We’re excited to announce that entries for this year’s Club Championships are now officially open!

If you’re keen to take part, the only requirements are:
✔️ You must be available to play on Finals Day – 11th July
✔️ You must be a fully paid-up member for the 2026/27 season

It’s a great chance to get involved, enjoy some competitive matches, and be part of a fantastic club event.

Mixed Doubles Success!
After a foggy crossing of the Solent, the Warsash 1 v Ryde Lawn 1 Mixed fixture produced some excellent tennis and a memorable result. Ian Udal and Victoria Pine were in superb form, winning both of their matches to put the team in a strong position. With the tie finely balanced, Warsash’s second pair of Martin Wilkinson and PG Udal stepped up in the deciding rubber, delivering a composed performance to secure the win.

It was a great day of competitive mixed doubles, played in good spirit despite the challenging start to the journey. The victory also confirms that Warsash have now won the Portsmouth LTA Winter Mixed League — a fantastic achievement for the team. 🎾🏆
