We had 3 teams taking part in the inaugural 'tour of the shore' race yesterday hosted brilliantly by .
All teams displayed excellent performances on a day with temperatures reaching into the 30's - luckily there was a breeze which helped cool us down but which also created a head wind on parts of the 4.2 mile course.
The race was a relay that started at 8am & finished @ 8pm & 1 of our teams (the Shirley Massive) took the win ahead of another of our teams The Ladyhillers). Also worth noting is that the ladyhillers only had 4 members in the team with 1 of the team running 6 laps (almost a marathon) with some very impressive lap times & consistency. 3rd was a team from our hosts & our 3rd team just missed the podium in 4th.
Safe to say we all really enjoyed this event; hanging with friends whilst recovering, chilling & preparing for our next laps, discussing tactics, cooling off & trying not to burn, having a good laugh then adding in some strong running with good support.
Now it's time to rest up ahead of, fir some of us, training again tomorrow (possibly an easy session for many of us) as it's consistency that pays off in the long term.

Well done to everyone who ran the Romsey 5 mile beer race ๐บ. Congratulations to Caitlin on 2nd female overall and Jill and Alan who both won the V60 categories ๐๐ป.
Also well done everyone who took park in the Copythorne 5k/10k last night, seems like a great event which has raised money for charity, something we are very keen on at this club.

LRR WNT (Lordshill Road Runners Wednesday Night Training) coaching session.
Last night, and after a good warm up, we did a hill session with efforts up a graduate 400m slope with recovery back down that lasted 25 minutes. Then we had a cool down & stretches.
Lovely to see a few new faces as well as plenty of regulars.
Well done everyone,

A successful inaugural MNT for Lordshill Trail Runners took place last night. We sought out the most technical trails possible in LW & then enjoyed some golden hour rays โ๏ธ through the tall pines ๐ฒduring our cool down.

It looks like our short distance, age graded, club race, where we could use any parkrun of our choice, was a great success with more than 120 of our members, according to Park Run data*, taking part at more than 30 different parkruns, the most exotic that we've seen being Vejen in Denmark.
The results will be released asap but please bear with us as complicated maths are involved.
Thanks to everyone who has taken part & the organisers including parkrun volunteers.
*We'll need to check this against our current members list.
