Why Ballet Matters 🩰

Ballet is about so much more than learning steps and getting through a syllabus; it gives dancers skills that support them throughout their dance journey!

Technique – building strong foundations to support alongside every style of dance.
Discipline & focus – learning to listen, concentrate and persevere, learning strict structural habits, spatial awareness, and musicality that improve performance across every genre.
Posture & balance – developing control, coordination and body awareness.
Emotional articulation – learning to express and communicate through movement.

These are skills that dancers can carry with them far beyond the dance class!

That’s why ballet will always be such an important part of the JM dance journey💜
