Say Hi to Miss Jess!👏

Miss Jess started dancing at the age of 12, and since then has taken dance exams up to the highest level and holds Advanced 2 Ballet, Tap and Modern. She became DDE Qualified in all three genres in 2015, when she also took over as Principal of Kings Academy of Performing Arts.

In 2017, she took over Roynon Dancewear with her mum Sarah, and together they became specialist pointe shoe fitters, attending many courses up and down the country since then.

She has progressed her teaching career to Licentiate level in Tap and Modern, and took over as Principal of RDC Dance Teacher Training College in 2021 where she coaches aspiring dance teachers for their Diploma in Dance Education.

In 2022 she gained a Fellowship in Tap Dance (the highest teaching qualification on offer) and became one of 30 people worldwide to train as an affiliate teacher of the Royal Ballet School which was a huge aspiration.

She took over JM in 2023 alongside Laura which is a huge passion project, having taught at the school from 2012 - 2015. She is thrilled to be back!

She hopes to gain Fellowship Status in Modern theatre this summer, and very recently she has been invited to train to be an ISTD Examiner, which has always been her dream and biggest career goal. She cannot quite believe it, and thinks that she will be one of the youngest people to have ever made it to examiner training!

Alongside this, Miss Jess is married with two beautiful children, Edie aged 5 and Lincoln who isn't even 1 yet, both who seem to love to dance as much as she does!

A joy to watch our girls Maypole dancing this weekend.

Happy Friday!✨

A little Friday motivational quote to get us through this bank holiday weekend! We always encourage our dancers to stay courageous and reach for the stars, although success is celebrated, we always remind our dancers that mistakes are allowed to happen in dance class and it helps our growth as dancers!

Lauren also works many weekends and evenings as a trained and competent stilt walker, fire performer and event dancer. Looking for her new adventure, Lauren is very excited for a new challenge and can’t wait to start sharing her personal and professional knowledge and experience with the next generation of performers.
