Visiting the family last night. We worked from turtle finding the back then a nice detail on the Peruvian necktie.

COMPETITION RESULT & MEMBER HIGHLIGHT POST One of our junior members enter the Solent Open run by . Having a 2 point gap in her first match and a submission win in her second, Gracie came home with 🥈 a silver!! Great work as always and an inspiration to other younger members and especially out other girl members too. Always keen to train, improve, compete and learn. Fantastic work as always!!!

What a fantastic Junior BJJ Inter Club that was. 40 matches completed over 2.5 hours. A fantastic atmosphere from the competitors, the parents and family members that came to watch too. And most importantly some fantastic displays of Jiu Jitsu. Congratulations to our winners:

Another night on the mats with my instructor this time covering attacks from knee on belly. Always great to everyone take it the added details of what they know and then add to them. And as it should be, we finish with multiple rounds of rolling

Back to it at Bishop’s Waltham after the Easter break. 32 on the mat all looking at Lasso Guard Sweeps followed half a dozen rounds of rolling

After 3 years at Purple Belt I was tonight awarded my Brown Belt 🟫⬛️⬛️🟫🟫🟫!! My journey through Purple Belt has definitely been memorable and it definitely where I’ve pushed myself to learn more and try to improve the weaker areas of my game. My first year I spent a lot of time with at refining my guard during 1on1 sessions. Thank you for guiding through those islands. Absolutely recommend Pete to anyone wanting to improve your guard or any of your game. Along side this was who although was teaching the class as a whole each week, gave me a lot to improve my stand up (although this still needs a lot of work). Jon also gave me a different outlook on how to approach things so thank you to Jon for being a big part of my progression. Several visits to for the open mats and feedback from to help me tweak the little details that made such a difference. But most of all thank you to Kevin Hall for your patience and understanding with me and my training. 12 years on and I still love coming to class, despite the 45 minute there and back. The daytime classes have been a god send to allow me to continue my training. Those little nudges of encouragement, especially lately have help make my Jiu Jitsu what is is today.

Open Guard sweeps was the focus in tonight’s class with and good to see more white belts on the mats to what was a blue belt heavy class.
