An SWA-event-Friday once again came around, and this time our 25 strong team of some of Southampton’s finest drinkers and windsurfers made the 4 hour pilgrimage up to West Kirby. Union community centre hall became our bed, and we swiftly made our way into town, guided by Liverpool, and a great night was had by all at Einstiens bar and McCooleys.
Saturday morning, and all but one car made their way to the famed location of west Kirby marine lake for a day of absolutely excellent windsurfing, beginner lessons, foiling and freeriding…
The tandem became the most dangerous weapon of choice, with many a near death experience had by riders at neck-breaking speeds down the wall.
A superstitious night on the town, with Southamptons ‘black cats.’ A great time was had by all at a selection of Liverpools best clubs, including Electrik and others (I can’t remember 😂…).
Anyway, waking up to another glorious day of the finest conditions West Kirby has to offer, with a perfect 18-25 knots all the way down the lake. Team racing and advanced racing were first up, and we had a great showing with Soton 1 and 2 getting 1st and 3rd respectively, with some great prizes courtesy of Boardwise. The beginner’s had loads of fun, and it goes without saying they have made a huge improvement since AK, well done!
Also a massive congratulations to Fin Atherton for getting a prize for best instructor and Erik Sier for getting the Jedi award for helping out at the community centre!
As we reflected on the 4 hour convoy home, we really could agree that it was one of the best events in recent SWA memory. Thanks to all who made it so great- Student Windsurfing Association - SWA Liverpool and Boardwise

We in SUWC believe charity is very important and what a better way to raise money for charity than to do it twice! Our first event will be a quiz at The Hobbit Pub hosted by Fin Atherton, with £2 entry and starting at 8pm on **WEDNESDAY** 29th.
Not long after that we have 2 teams entering the charity cycle with Southampton RAG On Friday 1st at 1am and 2am so make sure to come out in ur pjs to support our amazing teams!

This Friday Sailing and Windsurfing will face off in an epic showdown quiz, navigating through questions to determine the ultimate society on the high seas of knowledge! Make sure to come along and support!

Thought we would give you lovely lot a bit of background behind our logo this year. The drawing we've attched was found in our Presidents pack from 1992 we think, so we got our media rep to digitalise it and add some colour for our logo and we hope you all love it. If anyone recognises the picture or knows who drew it please drop us a message - would be sick to find our suwc artist! Our amazing t shirts were designed by both and and will be on sale until Monday 27th November for £15 - so grab yours quick!

Friday 20th couldn’t come soon enough as we departed Southampton for sunny South Wales with a minibus and trailer adorned with all the club kit we could throw in, for a weekend of windsurfing, partying, camping and cider drinking in Llandegfedd. Our 32 strong team, a great mix of freshers and returners pitched up tent at Hallets Cider Farm and excitedly wondered down to the party tent to get to meet new friends from clubs all over the UK.
Saturday morning, and we were rudely awoken by our favourite Disney music at 7:30am. Croissants consumed we drove over to Llandegford lake for an epic day of beginner lessons, and some wild tandem-board sailing. A quick pitstop at the nearest spoons for dinner, we got back to the campsite and began getting changed into our ‘rhyme-without-reason’ theme of ‘starwars and whores’. A wild night was had by all, and many thanks go to PsyberFunk music and Hallets Cider for keeping the music pumping and drinks flowing.
Another day windsurfing at Llandegfedd lake on Sunday included some action-packed team racing, with 3 of the 5 southampton teams making the final, and Southampton team 1 winning overall – winning some great prizes courtesey of c-monsta . Thanks to Student Windsurfing Association - SWA , Llandegfedd activity centre Boardwise and all the other sponsors Club Vass Monster dryrobe Saltrock Buccaneer Sessions.... for making AK22 one of the best ever, and we are looking forward to driving up to Liverpool for another fantastic weekend away.

Our beginners are really progressing at our Wednesday sessions and great to see how much they’ve learnt after only a few weeks, well done everyone!
