Invitation to the European Goju Kai Seminar 2025 in Switzerland

Dear Hanshi, dear Shihans, dear Goju Kai instructors,

I am very pleased to announce the date of the next European Goju Kai Seminar. The seminar will take place from 12 to 16 August 2025, a little later than in previous years.

The venue will be the Swiss Federal Sports Centre in Magglingen, the national training centre of Switzerland. The facilities are located in a beautiful landscape, about one hour by train from the airport, and offer excellent professional sports infrastructure.

In contrast to the first option I presented at the instructors’ meeting in Bulgaria, we had to change the location, as the promised subsidies were not granted. With this new solution, however, we now have access to the best conditions Switzerland can offer – at a cost that is in line with comparable seminars.

We will send you detailed information on the program, accommodation, and fees shortly. Hanshi has already informed me that Saikoshihan has confirmed his participation.

I am very much looking forward to welcoming you and your students to Switzerland next year.

2 years, 2 whole years of Yamaguchi Goju Kai Leigh on sea. What an incredible journey it’s been so far. Gradings, competition success and seminars. It has been a true privilege to become sensei and an even greater honour to teach the wonderful students that I have. Thank you all for making this possible. Here’s to many more years.

I could not be prouder today.

6 students too to the tatami today at the Grays Goju Grassroots competition. Between them there were 9 entires in the tournament and in total the club has come away with 9 trophies.

You all performed spectacularly and left everything on the mat.

A great learning experience for all and hopefully the first of many more tournaments for all.

Huge thank you to David Bancroft, Eva Bancroft and Hugo Watkins for helping the younger students prepare for the event and get them warmed up before they competed.

Another huge thank you for Mark Adams Shihan and all at Grays Dojo for putting on such a fantastic event and giving students to opportunity to participate.
