Feeling the heat, physically or emotionally?

Sheetali and Sheetkari pranayama are ancient breathing practices designed to do one thing beautifully: cool you down.

Cool air drawn slowly across the tongue creates an immediate calming effect on the body and mind, reducing temperature, easing anxiety and counteracting anger before it takes hold.

This is the power of pranayama, and just one of the practices woven through everything we teach at Mayura.

"𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲."

Hannah came to the Foundation Course with very little experience and a lot of anxiety about Sanskrit.

She left with a deeper understanding of the origins, theory and philosophy of yoga than she ever imagined possible, and a commitment to continue her teaching journey.

This is what nine sessions on the Mayura Foundation Course does.

It guides you towards a genuine shift in how you understand yourself, your practice and your place in the wider yoga community.

The next Foundation Course begins 7th June. A few spaces remain, and doors are closing soon.

If something in you has been quietly wondering whether this is your next step, this might be the moment to listen to that.

Yoga has always been about far more than what happens on the mat.

The postures, the breath, the stillness, all of it is working on something deeper. Your nervous system. Your energy. The parts of you that words don't quite reach but that you feel nonetheless.

Chakras are one of the oldest frameworks for understanding that invisible inner landscape. One that starts to make an enormous amount of sense the more you explore it.

And it is one of the many fascinating areas we explore in the 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲. A course that is seven weeks, nine sessions and thirty hours of learning that changes how you experience everything, your practice, your body, yourself.

There is no homework or exam, but you'll receive a Certificate of Attendance qualifying for 30 CPD hours, and leave with a depth of understanding that changes how you experience your practice and yourself.

Whether you're a teacher seeking fresh inspiration, a practitioner ready to go deeper, or someone quietly wondering if teacher training might be your next step, this course is just right for you.

Doors close soon. A few spaces remain.

You know that feeling when you finally exhale? That deep, full release where the week falls away, the list in your head goes quiet, and you remember what it feels like to just be.

That's what the 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 is for.

Two hours designed entirely around bringing you back to yourself. You'll leave feeling genuinely restored, calmer in your body, clearer in your mind, reconnected to something that gets drowned out in the noise of everyday life.

Just come exactly as you are for an evening held with intention, in a room full of women doing exactly the same thing.

This May, Tarini is taking her Thursday class on a journey through the chakras.
Seven energy centres. Seven aspects of how we feel, function and show up in the world.

Roots. Creativity. Confidence. Compassion. Expression. Intuition. Awareness.

Most of us are running low on at least one of these right now. The beauty of yoga is that every practice, every breath, every posture, every moment of stillness, is working to restore what's been depleted.

Come and experience it for yourself.

Every Thursday, 11am–12pm Mayura Studio, Thorpe Bay All levels welcome.
Drop-in £10 | 4 classes £32

We are so grateful for messages like these.

That's what training at Mayura does. Not just the qualification or the hours on the mat, but a genuine, deep understanding of the theory behind the practice, the core truth and philosophy that makes yoga what it actually is.

Our courses are loved by past and present students alike. And messages like this one remind us exactly why.

Whether you're curious about deepening your own practice through the Foundation Course, or feel ready to take the bigger leap into Teacher Training, there's a natural path here for you, wherever you are in your journey.

Foundation Course: 7th June 2026
Teacher Training: 26th September 2026
