🚴‍♂️ CAN YOU HELP US ON SUNDAY? 🚴‍♂️

We're looking for a Back Marker Cyclist to assist at the Southend Triathlon on Sunday 21st June.

Your role would be to ride behind our event back marker, ensuring the very last athletes on the course are supported and that we know when the course is completely clear.

It's a really important role and a great way to be part of race day, soak up the atmosphere and support fellow athletes as they achieve something special.

You don't need to be racing, just confident on a bike and available on Sunday morning.

2 DAYS TO GO!

The countdown is on and we're almost ready to welcome you to the 2026 Southend Triathlon.

✅ Water quality checks have been completed and we're all clear for racing. We will check again tomorrow as our last final check

📧 All final race instructions have now been sent to participants. If you haven't received yours, please check your spam/junk folder first.

🌊 The sea temperature is currently sitting at around 18.4°C, which should make for very pleasant swimming conditions on race day.

☀️ The forecast is looking fantastic, but it is also set to be very warm on the bike and run courses. Please make sure you arrive well hydrated, drink little and often over the next two days and make full use of the water stations on race day. A few extra sips now could make a big difference later in the race.

🎒 Don't forget to collect your race pack from The Wetsuit Outlet on Saturday between 9:00am and 1:00pm if possible:

Collecting on Saturday will help make race morning much smoother for everyone.

If you can't make Saturday, registration will still be open on Sunday morning from 4:30am. Please note that there will be no goodie bag available for race-day collections.

Southend seafront is nearly ready, the finish line is waiting and in just 48 hours hundreds of athletes will be taking on the challenge of a Sprint Triathlon, Olympic Triathlon, Aqua Bike, Duathlon or Team Relay.

Rest up, hydrate well and get ready to enjoy every moment.

Is there anyone out there who can spare a few hours and help us make race day happen?

You do not need experience, just a friendly face, a bit of common sense and a willingness to support the athletes. We have various roles around the event, and full guidance will be given.

Events like this rely massively on people stepping forward. Every marshal makes a difference, whether you are helping direct athletes, supporting the finish area, assisting around transition, or simply being part of the race day team.
