Sam’s season is gathering pace. 👏
The 17-year-old is our Southend Player of the Month after making huge strides in his game, reaching the Men’s Singles semi-final and booking his place in the U18 final this September.
A brilliant run, a well-earned award, and plenty more still to come. Well done, Sam!

Chalkwell Park is back in play!

As Paris crowned its French Open champions last weekend, Southend celebrated some champions of its own!
Congratulations to Neil Morrison, our Men’s Champion, and to Freya Magrath and Marina Green, who shared the Women’s title after an outstanding competition.
A huge well done to everyone who took part. The trophies may have found their owners, but the memories will last a little longer.

It’s a brilliant way to play more tennis, meet local players at your level, and turn your coaching into proper matchplay.
You can join through the Matchspace app: create your account, use your code, head to the Feed tab, and enter Any Combo Doubles, Mixed Singles, or both.
Matches run from 1 June to 31 August and entry is £10. Most importantly: you’ve only got until Thursday, 28th May, to sign up!!!

Quick heads-up, Southend players: starting tomorrow, Chalkwell Park and Gunners Park will be closed while resurfacing works get underway. A little pause now, but very worth it for the refreshed courts on the other side.
Thanks for bearing with us while the work happens. In the meantime, our other Southend venues are still open and bookable as usual and we’ll keep you posted with updates as things progress!

March Player of the Month: Poppy
Poppy has been brilliant on court last March, always working hard, asking questions, and giving every session her full focus. Her attitude, energy, and real drive to improve have made her progress a joy to watch.
