⚓️ 2026 Sailing Season is Officially Underway! 🌊

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our season kick-off events and we are officially ready for another fantastic year on the water! In case you missed it here’s what we’ve been up to:

🏠 A Fantastic "At Home"

We kicked things off with a brilliant “At Home” event at the Naval and Military Club. It was a pleasure to welcome the Worshipful Mayor Nigel Folkard, MP Bayo Alaba, along with families, friends, fellow members, and fellow sailors from neighbouring clubs including TEYC, LSC, TBYC, EYC and BYC for a fantastic evening of food, drinks, and mingling and our first time hosting in 12 years!

🛠️ Work Party Weekend Success

Following the festivities, our members rolled up their sleeves for our Work Party Weekend. Thanks to your hard work painting, cleaning, and prepping the jetty and grounds are now officially ship-shape and ready for a summer on the water!

⛵️ The Sails Are Up!

With the hard work behind us, it’s time to focus on what we do best! Interested in joining? The season is just starting and the perfect time to become part of the AYC family. DM us for membership details ✨

This weekend a group of our sailors set sail for a mystery destination… and ended up at the fantastic Benfleet Yacht Club! 🛥️⚓

We enjoyed a brilliant overnight stay filled with great sailing, plenty of laughs, and a delicious evening trip to the local curry house! 🌊🍛

A huge thank you to Benfleet Yacht Club for hosting us so warmly your hospitality made the weekend extra special 🙌

Here’s to more adventures on the water and shared good times with our sailing friends. ⛵💙

Best Day of the Season!

This past weekend saw the best day of the season by far at the AYC’s Jetty Fun Day and what a day it was! With sunshine overhead and a fantastic Southend high tide, the jetty was alive with energy, laughter, and activity.

It was great to see so many members out on the water, enjoying everything from sailing, paddleboarding to kayaking and swimming. The jetty buzzed with excitement as members, families, and friends!

The highlight of the day? It was a brilliant reminder of what makes the AYC community so special fun, friendship, and a shared love of being on the water.

A massive thank you goes to Dave B, Linda, and Phillipa for their amazing efforts in organising the day and keeping the BBQ sizzling the food was fantastic and kept everyone fuelled for fun!

If you missed it, don’t worry there’s more to come this season with commodores day just a few weeks away!

Fantastic Turnout for the TEYC Little Havens Charity Race! ⛵🌊

We’re incredibly proud to support such a worthy cause, and it was great to see the sailing community come together for Little Havens Hospice

Special thanks to Andy, George and Pam for providing the support RIB and a huge well done for all that took part 🙌

Big shoutout to TEYC for organising such a well-run and enjoyable race. Looking forward to more open races like this in the future!

🎉 JETTY FUN DAY IS BACK!

Join us at Alexandra Yacht Club Jetty on Sunday 13th July from 12PM for an afternoon of food, fun & games all by the sea! 🌊⛵️

🎯 Games: Pétanque on the beach & golf darts on the jetty
🏄 On the water: Bring your paddleboards!
🍔 BBQ Menu (£5 per head):
• Hot Dogs (with or without crispy onions)
• Burgers (with or without cheese)
• Corn on the Cob
• Homemade Slaw
🥤Bring your own drinks!

🪑 Or just chill on the jetty with family and friends and soak up the summer sun!

🎟 Plus 5 months of 200 Club draws with up to £460 in winnings!
