Happy 55th birthday to our 2008 Champion Golfer, Padraig Harrington.
His victory ensured he kept the Claret Jug for a second straight year, replicating Tiger Woods' achievement in 2005/06. Since then, no one has successfully defended The Open.
The 6th proved our second toughest test during The Open, beaten only to the 18th.
Playing as a par 4 for the pros, it averaged 4.334 strokes with just 33 birdies across the entire week.

The 15th hole was a hot topic all week during The Open, and we loved watching players use their imagination after missing the green.
Players tried everything from lob wedges to putters, and 7-irons to 3-woods to save par, which is exactly how links golf should be played.

One of the loveliest moments in Open Championship history.
After winning here in 1954, Peter Thomson handed the Claret Jug straight to his wife, Lois, to the delight of the watching crowd.
Moments before, when he began his winner's speech, the very first person he mentioned was her.

Happy birthday to the late, great Peter Thomson, our Champion Golfer from 1954 and 1965.
Peter is the only man to have won two Opens at our club, so it's only right to look back on both of his wins today, as well as his legacy as a five-time Open Champion.

And what a week it was.

During The Open last month, it delivered: the week showcased exactly the variety of strategies and scores we'd envisioned.
