A busy night in the pool with Belle having a try-dive and Tim enjoying a try-snorkel being presented their certificates by Jonathan and Martyn.

Come and join us in the pool on Wednesdays or in the club afterwards and meet some members for a chat and a drink. Next week in the club we are having a quiz and a book/kit sale, all welcome 😊

Another lively Committee meeting just finished with a welcome to new members, Phil as Equipment Officer and Mark, the Training Officer.
Also huge congratulations to Steve B who was elected as our new President, let’s hope he does a better job than DT in the US 🤣
Thanks as always to Martyn and Diana for hosting us in their lovely home.

How many divers does it take to erect a banner? A team of three, under close supervision, were spotted erecting the new club banner outside of Dunes Leisure Centre at our club night on Wednesday. Some have been referred for a health and safety update following the near miss with the sliders 😁

Our recent AGM was well attended with a packed agenda. Following the business section we gave awards to our Diver of the Year to Tom, the Pete Markham award for perseverance in the face of adversity to Steve Y and the Member of the Year to Steve B, a long-standing hard working member, which was well deserved! A somewhat dubious honour for the longest dive went to Adrian 😁🤿.

We also had a photo competition which was won by Steve I (the club is full of Steves by the way), a great shot recently taken in the Maldives.

Lastly, in the midst of a chip butty eating frenzy, we held a raffle that raised over £100 for the Southport Lifeboat which is a local cause close to our hearts as divers.
Overall a good night was had by all with the added benefit of electing some new Committee members who are ready to continue the good work started by the outgoing members.

Every year for over 50 years club members brave the cold to do a Xmas/New Year skinny dip.
This year was no exception.
Well done to everyone who went in and those who cheered on from the sidelines. (colds and coughs depleted this year's dippers.) A lovely warm meal afterwards in the cafe

A great week of diving at one of the UK's most remote dive sites Kinlochbervie is as far north as you can go on the mainland.
Its remoteness gives you amazing scenery both underwater and on the surface.
Our hosts for the week Dive KLB have been exploring this area for over 10 years and have dozens of sites to explore from caverns , swim thrus, walls covered in life, sandy sea beds with swarms of sand eels.
These are just a few photos, check out their facebook for better ones!
This is why we go diving in the UK .
