Southport and District Badminton League Bringing local players together since 1932! With 15 clubs, 55 teams, and 6 divisions, there’s a spot for every skill level.

Join a club, enter tournaments, and hit the court with us! 🏆 The Southport and District Badminton League started in 1932 and is one of the biggest leagues in the country with over 65 teams participating in 7 divisions. Matches within the league start in September and comes to a conclusion in April. Throughout the year, a variety of individual tournaments take place. These include open and handicapped events, making them accessible to all league players. There are also team cup and shield competitions which are in a variety of formats and take place during each halves of the season.

Celebrating the history of the Southport & District Badminton League A Tournament and the partnerships who have lifted the Men’s Doubles title over the years!
From N. Green & K. Houldcroft in 1955–1956 through to Mike Johnston & Mark Rigby in 2025–2026, this roll of honour spans an incredible 70 years of local badminton history. 🏸
A huge congratulations to every player whose name appears on the list — with some familiar names returning year after year to claim the title multiple times! 🥇👏
It’s fantastic to look back at generations of players who have competed in the league and see how the A Tournament has continued through the decades.

Looking to get active, level up your game, or make new friends? Crosby Badminton Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities!
Whether you're picking up a racket for the first time or looking to play competitively, there's a spot on court for you.
🏸 Club Night Details
🗓 When: Every Wednesday, 7pm – 9pm
📍 Where: Crosby Leisure Centre
👶 Juniors (7pm – 8pm): £3 entry
🎟 Standard Admission: £5 per session (£3 for the first hour for juniors)
🏅 Annual Membership: £90 (includes free club nights, Badminton England registration, and team league play)
