I’ve had three children, an emergency appendix removal and one of my Fallopian tubes removed after it burst through a missed ectopic pregnancy and even though I train hard & eat healthily, my stomach is wrinkled and covered in scars.

I’m a big believer in loving what we’ve got and teach body confidence to all my clients, but I still like to take care of myself and make the most of what I have. Because I workout and meditate my mindset is good but I still end up focusing on the parts of myself that I’m not keen on instead of all the wonderful bits.

There’s currently a big media trend towards body positivity and self love. Personally I think that’s bollocks because not feeling comfortable in your own body is hard and exhausting, especially when it’s a gender issue. It’s leading people to stop talking about their feelings and feeling under pressure to be grateful and try to love parts of ourselves when sometimes we don’t even like anything about ourselves.

Not everybody is going to agree with me, but I’m telling you it’s normal and okay to lack confidence, so don’t let anyone tell you how to feel about your body or any part of yourself. And that includes me!

My gripe became an obsession and it lead me to try all sorts of techniques to hide and flatten my post weight loss stomach. I researched tummy tucking surgery to death, (the main thing that put me off is the expense, when it should be the obvious health risk!)
And I consulted and discussed all the non invasive cosmetic options with one of the countries leading aesthetic doctors, who is based here in Portsmouth and also in Harley Street. He concluded that surgery was my only option after he made some enquiries himself and that he couldn’t help me. Let’s face it, body surgery is an awful lot to go through but it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Anyway, after scouring the internet for a surgery alternative or something that wasn’t big control pants (that you can’t wear with swimwear and for exercise)
I made my own tummy tucking product several years ago. I was kind of embarrassed that I was doing it, so I didn’t tell anyone about it. I have trawled the internet trying to find a company that makes a similar device to what I had created, because I wanted to buy it rather than keep wearing my dodgy amateur efforts…

Then in January 2020, I had a eureka moment and realised that I could be helping other people with their body confidence too. Why didn’t I produce them myself? Durr…! So, I made that idea happen, I applied for the patent, found a manufacturer and developed the product which is now for sale on Amazon in less than a year.
