📣 EXCITING NEWS – MORE SPACES COMING TO BARNARD CASTLE! ⚽

Due to the continued growth and demand for our Barnard Castle sessions, we’re tentatively looking to open an additional Saturday morning class after the next half term.

This will allow us to offer three groups, helping us place each child in the session best suited to their age, confidence and stage of development:

⚽ 4–5 Years
⚽ 6+ Development
⚽ 6+ Match Ready

🕘 Saturday mornings
9:00–10:00am – 4–5 Years & Development sessions
10:00–11:00am – NEW additional class

The extra session will mean we have spaces available across all three groups and can make sure players are placed in the class best suited to their current stage of development.

We’re hoping to have the new class up and running after the next half term.

NEW FRIDAY FOOTBALL SESSION – SPENNYMOOR! ⚽️

Due to high demand and a growing waiting list, we’re tentatively looking at adding an additional Friday football class in Spennymoor — for NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY! 🙌

👧🧒 Ages: 4 years old
⏰ Time: TBC – an earlier after-school session
⚽️ Duration: 45 minutes
📍 Spennymoor

We’re currently gauging interest before setting it up, so if you have a 4-year-old who isn’t currently attending one of our sessions and would love to join us, we’d love to hear from you! ⚽️

⚽️ Well done to our Barnard Castle ballers today!

Despite the windy conditions, everyone worked really hard and there were some fantastic skills on show! 💪

Our younger group focused on different movements and showed some brilliant dodging skills during our pool noodle tag game. 🏃‍♂️ They then put their ball mastery skills to work in our mazy dribbling drill, developing close control and confidence on the ball. ⚽️

Our mini ballers worked on ball mastery, turning and burning away from defenders, as well as using their ‘iron bar’ arm to help protect and keep the ball safe. 🔥💪

It was fantastic to see so many children trying to apply these skills during our mini matches. 👏⚽️

⚽🔥 Another brilliant session for our Spennymoor Ballers! 🔥⚽

Our younger ballers continued to develop their physical literacy through a variety of movements, before working on when to use bigger and smaller touches during our drills. 👣⚽

Our older group focused on changing direction and moving at speed with the ball — it was all about “Turning & Burning!” 💨🔥

We then added defenders into the mix, challenging the players to protect the ball and escape pressure. 💪⚽ The children were encouraged to use their “Iron Bar Arm” 🦾 to protect the ball and create space to get away.

👏 Keep up the fantastic work, everyone!

I’m delighted to announce that MD PE & Coaching has officially partnered with TASC Football Club! 🤝

This partnership is all about creating more opportunities for our Spennymoor children. ❤️

Although this is now official, we’ve always had a great relationship with TASC, with many Spennymoor players progressing into TASC teams. Some have gone on to Talent ID programmes and academy football, while others continue to enjoy grassroots football.

Now, we’re making that pathway even stronger. 💪⚽️

Through this partnership, our Spennymoor children will continue to have access to:

⚽️ High-quality Foundation Phase coaching
⚽️ A proven development programme built on 20+ years of experience
⚽️ Talent ID festivals and opportunities with professional clubs
⚽️ A genuine pathway into grassroots football

Great to be back at Barnard Castle today! We somehow managed to miss the worst of the rain and it was brilliant to see so many new faces alongside our regulars.

The hard work continues, with everyone putting in the effort, developing their skills and enjoying their football. 💪⚽
