Our general manager Iain and senior instructor Glenn along with two friends Stu and Rob with four legged friends Smudge and Goose had a “gentleman’s” walked up day at Lymore Estate shoot in Montgomery part of the Powis Castle estate at the invitation of hosts Bob and Margaret.
The youngest gun being shot in the line 106 years old……………
The day found Iain shooting his 1893 F Beesley best Side-lock ejector with Glenn shooting his William Ford bar action hammer gun also from 1893 , Stu shot his fathers William Ford box-lock from 1920 and Rob his 1875 Charles Lancaster under lever hammer gun. A combined gun age of 523 years !!!!!
A bag of 41 pheasants and two Canadian geese was achieved by the team with the White pheasant being pegged by Henry’s dog so no fine for Stu!!
A big thanks going to Bob,Margaret, Mark and Henry from Lymore Estate for hosting and putting the day on enabling the team to shoot vintage guns and keep these wonderful pieces of English heritage, history and art alive and used for their intended purposes.
