Day 2 was a scorcher ! Sunny ☀️ 🥵and started with K1 1000m Final B as well as K2 500m Final B followed by K2 1000 heats

Ben was racing against his K2 partner in his K1 final with Arthur taking 4th and Ben fifth (less than 1/2 sec between them) so looks good for the K2 later.
He finished 8th in the K2 500m final B (with Sam Sparks RLS) where the calibre of crews from Hungary , Czech and Croatia was awesome but the boys know what they will need for the future if they are to train this boat.
Ben and Arthur (Devizes) combined in the K2 1000m and finished 3rd to qualify for the semi finals tomorrow.

Wow ! What a day ! Team GB 🇬🇧 have performed great on day one making finals A and B for the boys and girls 💪👏👏
Ben was not surprisingly nervous ahead of his first race but managed to overcome them to get a place in his K1 1000m semi final and then progress into Final B…not bad from a full international field of 45 athletes 💪👏👏
He did K3 500m with Sam Sparks of RLS and in only their 4th time in a boat together made it into semi final 1 and then into Final B, again a great result from a very competitive field of athletes 💪👏👏👏
Bens off for a well rest tonight after his 4 races and with 2 finals ahead of him tomorrow.
The U17 and U15 ladies both made Final A and B’s 💪👏👏👏
The De Bilio sisters both had a great day as did Ruth Shepherd and Isabelle in the C1 💪👏👏👏👏
The Brazilians fly in C1’s and the Hungarian and Czech crews look good in K1 and K2 but GB are always in the race
Thanks for all your support from the UK 🇬🇧👏👏👏

Entries are now open for Gailey CC Hasler race. 4th October.
This year we have changed the course for D1,2&3. It was a long, lonely race with 8 portages after doing 8 miles. We have rejigged it and it will now be laps with the portages in the middle, hopefully better for competitors and for spectators.
Be one of the first to race the new course!
Look forward to seeing lots of you here!!
oh and, we have a supply of the white number boards, £4 each, if anyone needs any.

            Division 1 - 6, singles, 2, 3,4, 5 & 6 doubles                                            1.00 pm

Day 2 at Neerpelt was capped off by some amazing performances again ! 💪👍👏👏

Scarlet had another fantastic day of racing adding a Silver in the Junior K4 500m to add to her medal tally 🥈🥈🥉
Scarlet had a brilliant weekend of racing in her K1 🇬🇧 and in two ‘scratch’ K2’s with different Belgium 🇧🇪 partners and a K4 with a crew from Czech Republic 🇨🇿
Well done Scarlet..we are all proud of what you have achieved this weekend. Your tactical racing in the 5k was the best race performance I have seen you perform ..amazing 👍💪👍💪👏👏👏

Ben won his K1 1000m heat to go straight through to the final taking a silver in a tight final race🥈
Ben joined Doogal Barnet from Reading 🇬🇧 in a ‘scratch’ K4 500m with two athletes from the home club 🇧🇪 taking home another silver medal 🥈
Ben and Doogal missed out on a bronze by 1/10 of a second in their K2 500m but put in a strong time 💪👍💪👏👏

Team Gailey came away from Neerpelt with 5 silver medals 🥈 and a bronze medal 🥉 an amazing performance given the level of competition from across Europe.

Well done to you both 💪👍👏👏👏
