🚨ATTENTION ALL REFEREES🚨
24th March , 7pm at Hem Heath Cricket club.
We are delighted to announce that we are establishing a referee support and mentor group.
“We expect a lot from someone that has had two days training”.
The meetings will take place monthly and the sole focus is to support all referees, at the beginning of their journey or the more experienced referee with rule changes and constructive feedback from watching their games.
The main focus is to ensure we support the officials and help give everyone the best official possible.
Meeting agendas will evolve monthly.
The team of mentors will support with all aspects of the role. One of our initial focuses will be what happens once the referee passes their course.
What to wear and what not to wear.
What is expected from them.
Support with match reports.
Support with decision making.
Where to stand during key moments.
Most importantly to be a support network for all.
Plus much more.
The team will also react to officials being scored low by a team, by this contact the team and maybe watch the official and offer support if needed.
Free for all officials within the NSJYL

We hope you all get time to spend valuable time with family and friends and hope 2025 is good to you all.
A special thanks to all the volunteers that give up so much of their family time to do pitch maintenance, plan sessions, coach and train the children, help run clubs and keep the children safe. Most of which won’t have a full Christmas break.
Fixtures for ladders have been run and will be live in the next few days.
Area cup fixtures also done and ready to be released in the new year.
Again …. merry Christmas to one and all and see you all in the new year with them lovely new boots that will be muddy and wet by the 6th Jan 🤣⚽️

Shout out to Hivelink who the league have worked with over the last few months on improving how we operate as a league.

They’ve worked on updates and improvements to the system which improves functionality and means we can utilise the system even more as a league moving forward.

We’re aware that Hivelink work with a few NSJYL clubs at different levels already including Newcastle Town, Hanley Town, Leek Town, City of Stoke and Florence.

Their system is seemingly particularly beneficial to medium to large clubs, bringing registration paperwork and payments amongst other things all into a safe and secure online portal with multi level admin access.

We had 185 girls including 6 girls only teams playing in NJSYL for the 2023-24 season and we’d love to grow our participation of female players either in mixed gender or girls only teams.

*Under FA Rules a full team of girls can play down a year if they choose to - this is sorted at Affilation with your county FA.

A lot of you will be aware, but just incase anyone missed it, Full Time and Matchday will be off line 5th to 7th March.

The people working on KO times and Referee appointments will get them confirmed and allocated ASAP after changes to games have been made tomorrow morning as we don’t know if anything will show in FT or MD when looking at fixtures.
