Hey Sailors! 🎁

will be hosting their annual 🎄Christmas Regatta & Dinner🎄 on Saturday December 6th!

The regatta will be held at Queen Mary Sailing Club, hosted by our friends at . Entry will be £10 per sailor!

The Dinner will start at 19:30 at The Hand and Flower in Kensington, with a black tie dress code. Guests are encouraged to dress it up with Santa hats and elf ears, or whatever Christmas twist you fancy 🎅. The £42 (students)/£47 (alumni) fee will include three courses!

Introducing our Saturday curry theme for Six Pack: dressed for the wrong event 🙈🫢😶‍🌫️

Good evening everyone!

Last weekend, UXCX and UCLove travelled down to Theale for this year’s inaugural team racing event. The two mixed teams enjoyed some very nice breeze and consistently being UCL’s own worst opponents on the water, with UCLove beating UXCX all three times they raced each other in the Swiss league.

Both teams bounced around the rankings on Saturday before bouncing their way to the Purple Turtle, painted in varying shades of gray as the Adams Family. On Sunday, an unnamed alum helm bounced a Firefly into the beach (gently), but made a speedy recovery in time for UXCX’s start. We enjoyed an early finish to the weekend, with neither team unfortunately making it into petit finals.

We will be holding a Team Racing Theory session this Thursday evening on the main campus (room TBA)!

Doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced sailor, new to the sport but keen to do competitions, or just interested in how Team Racing differs, this session will be good for anyone interested in further club participation.

As always, we’ll be going to the pub after, and that alone should be a reason to come.

Thanks for coming to our tasters and curry! We have two options for you to get full-time involved with UCL Sailing this year:

Sailing (£105): For Team Racers, Beginners and Casual Sailors.
⛵️Regular Training and Coached Sessions in Team Racing.
⛵️Access to beginner sailing courses at an additional fee far cheaper than any commercial training centre
⛵️Access to our boats, equipment, and facilities
⛵️Membership with our affiliate, Welsh Harp Sailing Club, giving you access to further Fleet Racing development and Club Racing.
⛵️Subsidisation for competitions on entry fee and transport (including free entry to BUCS)
⛵️Development opportunities in Powerboating and Instructor Qualifications

Social Membership
🌟Social (£10): For Social members and SSW enthusiasts,
🌟Regular Socials, including access to joining us at competitions for socials
🌟Opportunity to buy a ticket for the annual Summer Sail Week
🌟Access to our Rooster order and Stash order
