✂️ Clipping season is well underway! 🐴

As the winter coats start coming off, we've seen our orders for polar fleece hoods rolling in.

Our fleece hoods are a great way to add an extra layer of warmth to a clipped horse, whether they're in the stable, travelling or getting ready for a day out.

With large eye openings for clear vision and the ears left uncovered, they're designed with both warmth and practicality in mind. The Velcro nose fastening and additional straps help keep the hood securely in place.

And, of course, they're made right here in our UK workshop, in a wide range of colours and patterns.

If you're clipping this season, don't forget about the head! 🤎

From pattern to finished product ✂️🧵

A little look at the progress of some of the items we've been working on.

We started with designing and developing the patterns, then moved on to cutting the fabric, and now the pieces are making their way onto the sewing machine.

It's always satisfying to see an idea progress through each stage and gradually turn into a finished product.

There's quite a lot of work involved before the finished item ever reaches the customer, and every stage is completed here in our workshop.

🐆 Finished in dark leopard

A beautiful dark leopard saddle cloth, finished and ready to head off to its new home.

We love seeing the finished fabric come together — from choosing the print and cutting the pieces, through to quilting, shaping and adding all the finishing details.

Made for practical everyday use, but with a print that definitely makes a statement. 🖤

As with all our horsewear, this saddle cloth has been designed, patterned and made here in the UK, in small batches rather than mass-produced.

From pattern to fabric ✂️

The patterns we designed a couple of weeks ago are now being put to use, as we cut out the fabric for our customer’s order.

Creating a good pattern is such an important part of getting the finished product right. Once the pattern has been developed and checked, it can then be used to accurately cut each piece ready for construction.

It’s always satisfying to see something that started as an idea on paper progressing into an actual product.

From pattern making and cutting through to sewing and finishing, everything is done here in our workshop.

🧵 Another stage in the making of a saddle cloth…

Here we're sewing on the girth attachments, which allow the saddle cloth to be secured correctly when in use.

It's another small but important part of the construction. Getting the positioning and stitching right helps make sure the finished saddle cloth is practical, secure and able to withstand regular use.

From the quilting and shaping through to the finishing details, each stage is completed here in our workshop.

✏️ It all starts with a pattern…

A little glimpse behind the scenes at T H equiwear.

We design our own products and make our patterns in-house, which means we can take an idea and develop it into a properly finished, practical product.

Pattern making is such an important part of the process. Getting the shape, proportions and fit right at this stage makes all the difference when it comes to the finished item.

And it's not just our own equestrian products that benefit from these skills — we've also had businesses outside the equestrian industry come to us for pattern making and development, helping them turn their ideas into workable products.

It's one of those parts of the business that happens quietly behind the scenes, but it's a skill we're really proud to have. 🧵

🖨️ Another little behind-the-scenes glimpse…

Our labels are being printed ready to go onto our latest T H equiwear products.

Just like our patterns, we design and print our labels in-house, giving us control over how our products are presented from start to finish.

It might seem like a small part of making a product, but we think those details matter. From the initial idea and pattern, through cutting and sewing, right down to the label — we like keeping as much as possible under our own roof.

And yes, that means sometimes our workshop gets a little chaotic! 😂🧵

🐴 Making room in the workshop!

Another look at some of our fleece bridle bags — and a few of these are now reduced to clear.

We're making some changes to our fabric stock and need to free up valuable workshop space, so some of our discontinued patterns and colourways are being offered at special reduced prices while stocks last.

The bags themselves are made to the same standard as always, with a full-length zip, carry/hanging loop and secure internal bridle fastening.

Once these patterns have gone, they won't be coming back, so if there's one you've had your eye on, now is the time to grab it! 👀

🐴 Saddle covers – and some matching sets still available! 🧵

We're continuing our workshop clear-out, and some of our fleece saddle covers are now reduced to clear.

We also still have a few matching sets of saddle covers and bridle bags available in selected patterns. 🤎

Perfect if you like your horse's kit to match, and a great opportunity to pick up a coordinated set before these discontinued colourways disappear.

As always, these are made here in the UK and are ready to dispatch, so there's no waiting for them to be made.

✨ Discontinued patterns • Reduced prices • While stocks last

Once these fabrics are gone, they won't be coming back — we're clearing the space for what's next!
