⚽️Sunday Match⚽️

The boys built on from last weekend and carried on with the great football, especially in the first half where we were in control of the game. We scored a cracking team goal as well with a lovely combination between, Pricey, Chaz, H and Georgie!

The second half we had to dig in deep as the opposition came at us but there was some great defending from the 2 at the back, Ted and Will, to keep us ahead in the game.

A really good all round performance both with our attacking play and our defending.

Well done boys, let’s keep building and believing. 💪🏻

⚽️ Sunday Match ⚽️

The top league is a tough league with no easy game. The boys were brilliant today, brave, positive and as always the teamwork was great to see. A different challenge against a team that like to the play long, but our defence were solid and brave a real old school defence performance.

In possession we played some lovely football creating some great chances. There were times when they could have lost their composure, but the team kept their cool, kept their style of football and produced a really good all round performance.

MPotM - ⭐️ Charlie - outstanding in midfield, ran the show.

PPotM - ⭐️ Freddie- some big challenges from Freds, put his body on line. He was unlucky not to score a couple of screamers including hitting the bar.

Skill Award - 🌟 Freddie - an amazing rainbow flick over the opposition and unlucky not to score after.

⚽️ Saturday Match ⚽️

Another great performance all round. Hard pitch to play on and a more challenging game. Great passing and link up play all over the pitch. Strong in defence and electric going forward. Really good goals scored against a good keeper.

⚽️ Sunday Match ⚽️

A really good and hard working performance from our rangers this weekend. We started the game strong, creating some good chances. We got pegged back, but team defended really well and finished the game on the front foot.

The main thing I wanted our team to focus today was to believe in themselves and never give up and they didn’t disappoint. The team showed great courage, team work and hard work.

Not the start to the Sunday season we had hope for. But plenty of positives to build on.

Last Sunday, I think it’s fair to say that we were much the better team, playing some cracking football, creating lots of great chances. Unfortunately a loss of concentration for 2 minutes cost us.

🏆Player of the Match - Ted🏆

This weekend was a tale of 2 halves, playing a very good side, we were the better side in the first half, once again playing lovely football, creating the best chances of the half. We were physical and worked hard as a team keeping the opposition quiet.

After a really unlucky deflected goal, followed by a second deflected goal, we then struggled to get back in the game.

🚨Mavericks are playing Saturdays!! 🚨

Another strong game for the lads. After a good start to the season last week. The lads went on to perform incredibly well again.
Our first away day on a Saturday, the lads travelled confident from last week’s result and working very hard in training this week.

We started very brightly keeping the opposition penned in the area while we worked the ball from left to right before we some fantastic passing play. It took us a little while to get past their GK who had a great game in goal.

Once the first goal had gone in the lads just grew and were playing like a unit. All players were involved in most of the goals in a show of how we passed the ball around. Scoring a mix of long range and composed goals one on one with the keeper.

PPotM
Charlie. Really took onboard what we did in training trying to play a strong ball through the middle for a player to run on to. Constantly looking forward for that ball out wide and happy to make a run. Always on the edge waiting for the ball to either pass or shoot and capped off the game with a classy finish from the edge of the box. Charlie is always shouting for the ball and always an option for his teammates, his ability to control the play, shows his great composure ⚽️

MPotM
Aston. Aston joined in the summer and has come on so much in a few months. Always had that speed and skill, but now he is finding those passes and through balls. He’s a nuisance for any defender with his speed and press. So unlucky today not to get a goal did everything right, had some wicked shots saved and was always a threat. Aston is always happy to track back and put in the hard work too loves a tackle and always seems to come away with ball. ⚽️

🏆🏆⚽️ Gnosall Tournament Champions ⚽️🏆🏆

A lovely morning for a football tournament on Saturday and the football on the pitch played by the Mavericks did not disappoint!!

We quickly realised that the pitch was very wide and if we moved the ball quickly into the wide areas there was plenty of space for our quick wingers and defenders on the overlap to attack and create chances. We played some lovely football through the group stages and the semi finals scoring 9 goals on our way to the final. You could see the team were enjoying themselves and really in the mood.

Once again our defence was solid throughout. Over 2 tournaments, 11 games in total we conceded 2 goals… 9 clean sheets which is an incredible stat.

Finals are always a different game, anything can happen, nerves, excitement….. a roller coaster of emotions. We couldn’t have started the final better, an absolute worldie of goal from Freddie, a good run from his own half to beat a couple of players crossing the half way line, it opened up for him and he unleashed a shot into the top bins!! 🗑️ 🔥

From there we controlled the game, keeping the ball well. The cherry on top, came at the end of the game, when a corner came out to the edge of the box for a waiting Elliot to hit an absolute rocket top corner to secure the title!!

🏆Champions!!!!🏆

What I loved most about the tournement was the team spirit and how much fun the team had on and off the pitch.

Well done Rangers super proud of you all. One of those tournements you will always remember. ⭐️
