Malleable Club FC 1 - 2 Lingfield AFC

Away game for the lads on Sunday and what a performance to earn 3 points. Went 1-0 up when Shaun got brought down in the box after a lovely bit of play between James and Aaron, Callum slots the pen home leaving no doubt. Malleable scored before half time after Paul was very unfortunate to concede after a unreal save. They applied pressure through the second half playing well at times but the boys soaked up the pressure well but with a little help from the post and Curtis with the goal line block. The lads continued to play well and get the goal we where looking for after Shaun sent the defender, cut in and beats the keeper from about 25yards out. They applied more pressure towards to the end of the game but the lads continued playing strong to see out the game.

Lingfield AFC 1 - 3 Rimswell FC

Yesterday we had a close game against Rimswell, the result was hard to take as we feel like we could have took something from the game but that’s how it goes sometimes.

Rimswell went 1 up due to a mistake on our part which put us on the back foot but we didn’t let that stop us playing our game. We had a clear penalty shout waved away by the ref after we had a shot blocked off the line by a Rimswell player using his elbow to keep it out, unfortunately the ref didn’t agree and the game continued on.
We eventually brought one back through a Ben Armstrong header coming from a throw in from Ryan.
But mistakes cost us again when we misjudged a bounce against the run of play and got caught out resulting in Rimswell making it 2-1, then as we were pushing for a equaliser in the last 10 minutes of the game Rimswell put the game to bed and scored a 3rd and final goal.

Overall it was a close game defined by mistakes which the lads will learn from.
Hopefully we can make it right next week.

Trafalgar 8 - 1 Lingfield AFC

The boys went on a long drive to Scarborough for this cup match yesterday too a frustrating afternoon.
In the first 10minutes one of our lads made a great challenge which prompted one of their lads to lose his head and decide to start strangling our player, which resulting in our gaffer having to play referee and defuse the situation before things escalated anymore.

The game was full of very questionable decisions from the referee, but ultimately we can’t actually take anything away from last years cup winners. Showing their class throughout the game and showing why last year they won the full thing.
We did eventually get a late constellation goal through Danny when he turned their defender on the edge of the box and curled a shot into the bottom corner.

Overall getting into the quarter finals of the cup in our first season is a great achievement, but unfortunately that comes too a end and now we have to put everything into the upcoming league games.

LINGFIELD AFC 1 - 6 NORTON GEORGE & DRAGON

Despite the score line, we are very happy with our performance, we were completely stripped down to our bare bones player wise today with most the team playing in makeshift positions, but you wouldn’t know it with the performance we put out.

We started off a bit slow going 3 down, but after that we came into our own, getting 1 back through a perfect ball into the box from Ben, and Brandon scoring with a diving header.
We stayed in the game and put up a solid fight till the end where the lack of players/subs showed.

Can’t take anything away from the boys who were there today, playing a very strong opposition, we knew we’d be up against it today and we made a very good account of ourselves, the lads should be very proud.
All credit to Norton George & Dragon as they played quality and kept us on our toes throughout the game.

Motm goes too Ben, quality performance, up and down the pitch consistently and providing support at both ends of the pitch, and with that assist it’s fully deserved. Well done mate.

Lingfield AFC 1 - 5 Becksfield

Overall a disappointing result giving the strong start we had, after going 1-0 down we had some very good chances that we could have taken, and if we did we could have had a different outcome and result, but that’s how Sunday league goes.
We did manage to score a screamer through Karl Hodgson who smashed one in from 40 yards who left their keeper struggling.

In typical Sunday league fashion we started the match with a keeper with no gloves which is always a fun start due to last minute drop outs, but we get on with it and can’t blame that for the outcome.

MOTM goes to Kane, some great battling today and put a real shift fully deserving of motm.

We go again next week to try make things right.

Proud achievement for the Lingfield boys being in the quarter final of the cup in our very first season!
Fully deserved to be where we are and the lads have done the club proud.

Another cup game, another win, another round.
We didn’t play our best football by any means, but we got the job done and we progress into the next round. The game wasn’t the most exciting but that shows how far the team has come and shows that even when we aren’t at our best, we can get a result.

After 2 impressive cup wins hopefully we can bring that into the league and start putting points on the board, long road ahead of us but we're enjoying every second of it

Myton FC 4 - 0 Lingfield AFC

Overall a slow performance and we didn’t really get going unfortunately. We give our all but just came up short.

We started to play a fair bit better in the second half which is a good sign.

We need to remember we are still a new team and progress is being shown with every week.

Keep your heads held high boys and we go again at the weekend.

Special shout out to our man of the match James Heppell. Scary moment for everyone there tonight and even when he was unable to stand, doing everything he could to stay on the pitch, the boy bleeds Lingfield.

Riverside FC 1 - 2 Lingfield AFC

The boys pulled it out the bag today and we finally got our first competitive win!
Proud moment for all involved, massive well done to the lads.

We played some fantastic football and everyone played their part, the team is gelling and you can tell by the way we play.
Great goals from James who scored from a tight angle and did very well too get a goal from where he was, and Cal who left no doubt with his penalty.

Shoutout the Riverside who played well and we wish them well for the rest of the season.
Also a mention for the ref who managed the game well and had a great game.

⚽️ Middleton rangers 8 - 1 Lingfield AFC ⚽️

Overall a bad day at the office, Middleton played well so fair play to them, not well enough to warrant the 8-1 win.

Can’t fault the Middleton boys, good set of lads and some good players so well done to them.
Was a good opportunity for a good game but was totally ruined by a incapable ref who doesn’t know the offside rule and was being questioned by both teams about his very questionable decisions.
Fair play to the Middleton lads for calling him out on his performance, hopefully next time we play we get a decent ref and can have a decent game.

In the end it was a unfortunate result considering the second half we had.
After a slow start to the match, we battled on and showed what we could do more and more as the game went on and could have quite easily got a result towards the end of the game, injuries throughout the team didn’t help but we battled on and we’re very unlucky.

This is only the start and if we played like we did in the second half we won’t have many problems this season.

Good effort today boys, kept going all game and showed what we can do.

Man of the match today goes to Ben Armstrong, solid effort today mate and a quality headed goal to add to the performance.
