We’ve been busy developing something new — an equestrian services marketplace.

It’s a simple tool that connects horse owners with trusted equestrian service providers like vets, physios, saddle fitters and farriers.

We’re now preparing to launch the test version and we’re looking for both horse owners and equestrian practitioners to join our early access scheme.

Brrr we are certainly feeling an autumnal chill in the air here at Yardd HQ in North East England 🥶

Whilst it'll be nice to say goodbye to flies, a change to colder temperatures and shorter days will take some getting used to 😵‍💫

Before the cold weather sets in, it's an ideal time to get organised. Here's a handy list of things to check:

Rugs 🐎
Are your winter rugs sat in a damp, dusty pile in your tack room? If so, now is the time to check if they need to be washed, repaired, or reproofed. Rug-washing businesses can get very busy before the winter, so bear in mind your rugs may take a little longer to come back.

Clippers ✂️
If you clip your horse in the winter, your clippers may be due a service, and your blades may be blunt. Before doing pre-clipping prep like bathing, check your clippers are sharp and in good condition to ensure a good clip.

Stable refresh 🧽
If your horse is stabled, cleaning and disinfecting your stable before using it again is a good idea. Plus, if you do this when the weather is still warm, your stable will have a better chance of drying out properly.

Tack check 🪡
A good habit to get into is checking the safety of your tack every season throughout the year. Compromised stitching or damaged equipment can cause avoidable accidents.

It's not all bad, we've still got more than 50 days till the clocks go back. There's still time to enjoy the end of the summer 🫶

What an amazing achievement from Tom McEwen, Ros Canter Eventing and Laura Collett Eventing!!! An absolute masterclass in horsemanship from all three riders. Happy horses and happy riders performing at their best! 🥳

Team GB are the only team to complete on double figures on 91.3!!! Massive well done!
