.cc 2026 highlights. Where cycling, creativity and engineering all merges. Utility bikes can look cool, cargo bikes done properly. All the alt cycling you can handle under one roof, fan-boyed at meeting Ronnie Romance and had a go at headbadge making with help as personal highlights.

Simple recommission of this cool old Kona. I tried to buy this a couple of years ago, owner wasn’t having any of that, instead it’s had a few new parts to make it rideable again. Great to get it back out and rolling for some more miles. Give us a shout if you’ve something sitting unloved you’d like to breathe new life into.

New bike day…….🚴🏼♂️ you know we love a custom build, this one was a solid brief. Something more relaxed, capable of heading away from the tarmac but still has to roll well(it shares its stable with a tasty Cervelo). From an aesthetic point of view we discussed- the monster cross look was appealing(without the smaller wheels) let’s dive into the the spec:
- Croix de fer 725 frameset
- 303S were on sale so, lets do that!
- GRX820 mechanical 2x12
- finishing kit
- Washburn tyres, in reliable durable carcass 700x42c
- ultra cool and reliable Bottom bracket
Proper awesome build, a real all rounder - in my opinion bang in brief. Will stand out in the right way at the coffee stop, delivers proper go anywhere ability and all day comfort. With the work done early in speccing it, the build comes in somewhere between 9-10kg - reasonable for a steel bike.
Custom builds don’t have to be out of reach and there’s just something about riding a bike that has your own input into it. Don’t ride the ordinary.

Fairly simple job that makes a huge difference to the owner, a specific requirement of needing to set off with the saddle low and adjust to riding height. Conveniently Cube left a spare route to internally route the cabling for a tidy addition of a dropper post. Basic service, firmware update and this is ready to keep the owner riding with plans for the Loch Ness sportive.
Upgrades aren’t just about performance.

These Focus are an almost niche brand, super nice riding and totally worth a few choice upgrades. Rim brake wheelsets are a bit harder to come by now but these Team 35SL from are hard to beat for value. Wearing tyres from my brand of choice in Challenger flavour. Full freshen up of cabling and consumables has this ride ready.

Some Brompton appreciation. Just a handful of the awesome folders we’ve seen this year including dropping one with its new custodian in Bristol last week. It’s been a positively busy time with them this season so some have passed through without a snap of it. Thanks for letting us get officially connected and putting us on the map.
Keep them coming, we are the only service partner for some miles and are equipped to tackle all generations including the latest electric variants and using genuine brommy parts…..unless you want something cool like mine.

So it’s been a bit quiet on here, first we had a bit of bike spotting round Europe(plus coffee & pastries), but then the workshop has been singing along mostly down to the unseasonal warm October. I’m booking into November now, it seems like lots of more technical jobs coming through that people have been putting off but also seems like a lot of “regular” bikes, maybe the tide is turning and people are embracing cycling for transport a bit more.
Get booked in if you’re parking your wheels for winter, the commuter needs freshening up or just a basic look over. We collect and drop off remember. Here’s some bad pictures from our travels, if you’re in Paris seek out .works for cool bike stuffs and awesome casual food/coffee. ❤️
