I earn more as a business strategist than I did as a coach. Here's the honest reason why.

When you create something that you know will make a difference to peoples business, which then will create incredible impact in their lives too, then getting it visible is easier.

Many of us suffer with imposter syndrome, and I get that, because I do too at times.

But what makes me keep going is the impact I know I can make. I know Strategy makes a real difference to the way a business will grow, or ultimately also fail.

Because when you spend 30 years in business, across different Industries, I have faced many scenarios, and strategy has been the saving feature when recession hits, or the markets change.

It's why I feel my impact in this world is to help people in business evolve, have clarity, make more sales and attract more premium clients. And strategy is behind this.

Not just a marketing strategy, a strategic roadmap that is bespoke to their business.

I love teaching this.

Content alone won’t get you clients.

A lot of Coaches struggle to get clients because they’re focusing on content instead of conversations.

Yes, content matters! But if you’re not actively having conversations with potential clients or collaborators, you’re missing a trick.

I was having a conversation with Fauve recently and she made a really good point:

“It’s much easier to sell something when you’ve built a reputation.”

And that’s true, which is why the early days are mostly about getting visible, being seen and building a reputation.

So make sure you’re focusing on things that help you achieve this.

For example:
- Ask clients for testimonials and share those across all your platforms
- Have genuine conversations in the DMs with new connections
- Attend networking events to get known and have conversations
- Consider who you could reach out to and collaborate with
- Consider some in-person events (it’s sometimes much easier to build trust and connection when you’re in the same room as someone!)

Pricing can feel like a minefield.

Too high? You worry you might scare people away. Too low? You undervalue yourself.

But here’s something to think about:
- The right price attracts the right clients.
- Pricing isn’t just about numbers - it’s about positioning (and also your reputation)
- If you’re constantly fully booked, maybe it’s time to consider raising your prices?

When I’m working with clients who are just starting out, we often start by figuring out two things:
1. What they’re comfortable with
2. What they NEED to earn in order to pay the bills

We then use those figures to work out what they charge in the beginning.

Then, as they become more experienced and build their reputation, they incrementally increase their prices (over a period of time) until they reach their ideal goal.

This is a good approach especially if pricing is a pain point for you.
