✨ Christmas is over, and it’s time to get back to sleep routines! ✨

If your little one’s sleep schedule feels out of sync after all the festive excitement, don’t worry—you’re not alone! Here are 6 simple steps to help babies and preschoolers ease back into healthy sleep habits:

🌙 Shift bedtime earlier gradually- Gradual Adjustment to Bedtime:
Holidays often mean later bedtimes. Start by shifting bedtime earlier by 15 minutes every few nights until you’re back to the regular schedule. Gradual adjustments are less disruptive for their body clocks.
🌙 Stick to the same wake-up time - Regardless of how the night went, wake your child at the same time each morning. A consistent wake-up time helps regulate their circadian rhythm.
🌙 Reinstate calming bedtime routines- Reintroduce calming pre-sleep activities like a warm bath, reading a favorite book, or soft music. A consistent bedtime routine signals to their brain that sleep is coming.
🌙 Create a cozy, sleep-friendly space - Ensure their sleep space is dark, cool, and quiet. Consider using blackout curtains, white noise machines, or a nightlight with a red or amber glow if needed.
🌙 Avoid late naps - avoid naps too close to bedtime. If naps are necessary, keep them earlier in the afternoon.
🌙 Be patient—it takes time!

Getting back on track might take a week or so, but consistency is key! Save this post and try these tips to help your little one get the rest they need. 💕

🎄 Thinking of using time off over Christmas to start sleep training? With extra time at home, it can be the perfect opportunity—but a little planning goes a long way! 💤✨

Here’s how to set yourself (and your little one) up for success:

1️⃣ Make sure it’s the right time: Is your baby healthy, and are you ready to commit?

2️⃣ Be consistent: Stick to your chosen method. Babies thrive on predictability, so consistency is your secret weapon.

3️⃣ Focus on sleep pressure: Let your baby build up a natural need for sleep. Forget the myths about wake windows or “overtiredness”—a tired baby is ready to sleep.

This season, give your family the gift of rest. You’ve got this! 💪

Unsolicited advice ? We’ve all been there! 🙄 This Christmas, here’s how to handle those well-meaning (but sometimes overwhelming) suggestions from relatives:
1️⃣ ‘Thanks for trying to help, but we’ve decided to do it this way...’
2️⃣ ‘I’ll look into that!’
3️⃣ ‘I appreciate the advice, but this is working for us at the moment.’
4️⃣ ‘It’s great that worked for you, but every baby/family is different.’
And if none of that works... you could always resort to a sarcastic comment or just tell Aunty Jane to get lost while you pour yourself another Baileys! 🍷
🎄🙌

💭 Wondering if sleep training will mean endless tears?

The truth is, every baby is different! Some babies I work with don’t cry at all, while others express themselves more. If your little one is happy with their current sleep routine, it’s natural for them to react when we make changes—crying is their way of communicating!

But here’s the good news: tears are not harmful, and with the right approach, we can create a calmer, more rested environment for your entire family. Don’t let the fear of crying hold you back from making positive changes! Your family’s well-being is worth it. 💕

If you’ve worked with me on your little ones sleep please share below what your experience of tears were 👇🏻

Struggling with your little one always wanting one parent?

Read this 👆🏻

First of all, I feel you, I’ve been there, it’s tough!!

It’s tough for both parents, the one that’s always wanted and the one that isn’t. Remember that if you’re the preferred parent, it’s just as hard to stand by and not feel able to help.

Build up to the non-prefered parent doing bedtime, include them in the earlier part of the bedtime routine, and slowly move to them putting the child to bed.

Focus on that 1:1 bonding time in the day, this is so important.

Good luck and let me know if you’re struggling with this!!

We’ve all been there, you’ve just got your baby into a good routine with healthy sleep habits and bam 💥 illness hits!

Don’t panic 👇🏻

Above are are some simple tips you can follow for managing sleep when your little one gets poorly.

The key here is, they definitely need some extra TLC and to be monitored more closely when they are poorly, and their nap routines might go a bit out the window. But try not to add in sleep associations that you’ll have to work on breaking once they are better! I’ve bought my little ones into bed with me when they’ve been unwell and then spent weeks getting them to sleep through in their own beds again. Comfort and love doesn’t mean a complete change in sleep habits 🤍

Worried about keeping your little one cool? ☀️

Here are my tips for on the go naps in the summer👇🏻

1. **Create a Sleep-Inducing Environment**:
- Use a breathable cover for the pram to block out sunlight.
- Consider white noise machines or apps to mask outside noise and create a consistent sleep environment.

2. **Maintain a Cool Temperature**:
- Dress your baby in lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton.
- Use a clip on fan to keep your baby comfortable.

3. **Stick to Routine**:
- If you can, try to maintain your baby’s regular routine even when out and about.

4. **Choose Shaded Spots**:
- Find a quiet, shaded spot in parks.

5. **Hydrate**:
- Keep your baby well-hydrated, especially in the heat. Offer breast milk, formula, or water (if they are old enough) regularly.

6. **Use a Carrier**:
- Some babies sleep well in a baby carrier, allowing them to feel close to you while still napping on the go.
- Ensure the carrier is breathable and doesn’t overheat.

7. **Monitor Safety**:
- Check regularly to ensure they are not overheating and are in a comfortable position.

Save these tips for later ✨
