Just had news that the school are closing due to the snow so there will be no badminton tonight.
Apologies for late notice.

Tuesday Club Night is cancelled this week
It probably won't come as a surprise that the committee have decided to not run a club night this Tuesday (19/07/22) due to the high temperatures forecast.
It's currently looking like things will be more normal and so Thursday club night will go ahead as normal.
Apologies for the short notice.
Just a reminder that there is no Tuesday club night (21st June) this week as the school are using the sports hall.
All other sessions running as normal.
It’s been a long time...
Tuesday and Thursday club nights will start again from Tuesday the 18th of May 2021.
The guidance has changed since we last played under restrictions. This means that we will be organised into two groups of 12 players* and masks are required when not playing. The Covid-19 Officer will arrange the groups as either two courts per group or one group per side of the nets.
Full details of how the system will work is as follows:
We will be strictly observing the government guidelines. Anyone showing up that hasn't followed the instructions detailed here will unfortunately have to be turned away so you must digest all of this very long email I'm afraid.
A Covid-19 Officer will be assigned to each club night. They will be responsible for arranging the groupings, ensuring that all players observe the guidelines and will also be the central point of contact for the booking system.
Each player will need to book themselves onto each session to enable us to control the numbers and record contact details for track and trace.
The booking system for each week will open at 08:00 on the Friday morning for the following week (it’s open now for next week!) so you might want to set yourselves some reminders. After that time players that are well and have no symptoms can email [email protected] selecting which session(s) they would like to attend on the following Tuesday and Thursday. The Covid-19 Officer will reply to the email stating whether they are booked in or on the waiting list in the event of an over subscribed session. If a player's availability changes they must email again with as much notice as possible to enable the Covid-19 Officer to reassign free places and contact players on the waiting list. Spaces will be prioritised by email "received by" date and time order.
By making a booking each player is agreeing to abide by the guidelines and to recognise the authority of the Covid-19 Officer. Anyone that has concerns over mixing must make their own decision on whether it is appropriate for them to attend. The club will manage each session to ensure that it is as safe as possible but some people will be sharing court space with players outside of their household or bubble and must accept the risks that will come with that.
Anyone that has participated in a session and subsequently tests positive should let us know.
Subscriptions will work on a pay as you play basis at a cost of £5 per night for adults and £2.50 for juniors. We will be encouraging bank transfers as payment. We can accept cash if necessary, preferably if no change is required.
Hand sanitiser will be made available.
Playing under the restrictions will require a little more patience but please trust that we will do our best to get you on court in an enjoyable and safe way.
Get yourselves booked in and we’ll see you soon.
*the guidance says that groups of 16 are permissible but we do not think that we'll be able to run the sessions safely with any more than 24 players in the hall.
Just a little longer...
Hello to you lovely badminton players. I hope you've managed to keep fit and well since we were all last on court.
There will be some relaxing of the rules from tomorrow. Whilst this technically means some people can return to badminton it won't really work for us as a club as it would only be family singles with restricted junior coaching. So we are going to wait for the next target date of the 17th of May.
Assuming that we hit that date without any national surprises we hope to be back on court on Tuesday the 18th of May. This would be under the same restrictions that we last operated with. In short this would be restricted to 24 pre-booked players in the hall organised into bubbles of 6 across 4 courts. We'll remind you of the details closer to the time.
So keep yourselves safe and well and listen out for some good news within the next 5 weeks.
SKDC is set to come out of lockdown into Tier 3. This will be reviewed on the 16th of December but will likely mean there will be no club badminton for us until 2021.
Sad to not be able to play but hopefully this will help to reduce the rate of infections.
Keep on keeping fit and we'll see each other on court again before too long.
Sadly, the Prime Minister’s announcement of a new set of national restrictions means that badminton will cease from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December inclusive. Tonight's (Tuesday's) club night will go ahead as normal.
Know that as soon as it is safe to do so we will be welcoming you back again. In the meantime, keep active and be well.
Half term doesn't stop us!
We often get asked if we play through the school holidays and the answer has always been "Yes!". This half term is no exception.
It's a beautiful day for and indoor sport.
There are still spaces available on both nights.
Get your email in and we'll get you on the list.

South Kesteven is currently Tier 1. Whilst we remain at that level we are still good to play as we are.
For the 2nd week in a row the Tuesday Club Night is over subscribed. This means we operate a waiting list so please let us know if you can't make it so that we can fill the empty slot.
We are very pleased to be so popular but always sad to not be able to offer badminton to everyone that wants to play.
Remember that the bookings open at 08:00 every Friday for both of the club nights in the following week. It's first come first served so those that are keen might want to set themselves a reminder.
We can keep playing as we are!
The latest government guidelines have been digested and we can confirm that we are safe to keep playing in our court groups of no more than 6 players. Please see the Badminton England news article for more information.
We have registered Stamford Badminton Club as a venue that can be identified for track and trace purposes and we will display a QR code that we will ask all of our members to scan on arrival with the new NHS Covid-19 app which we encourage you all to download:
Download on the App Store or Get it on Google Play
Meanwhile, we are considering tinkering with the club night format to help our members enjoy a wider variety of games. What is possible for us to do within the rules is keep groups of six players but share them between two courts. It would work like this, there would be 12 players allocated across two courts as normal but six players would play on the north side of the two courts and the other six players stay on the south side, none of the 12 players would be able to swap ends for the entirety of the evening.
The original format might continue to be used on other courts if deemed appropriate.
Your Covid-19 officer on the night will provide clear instructions about who is in your court group and where you can and can't play.
All of our members have been excellent at observing all of the guidelines so far so thank you for that. Please continue to follow the rules, sanitise your hands regularly and pay by bank transfer if possible.
