After Sunday’s league cup win its more cup action for the lads this Sunday as we travel to Houghton Le Spring to face Dubmire in the 2nd prelimary round of the County Cup. Come along and support the lads.

(League Cup 20/9/26)

Today we played our first home game of the season, as Skerne Park travelled to Bondisle Stadium for a League Cup Game. The visitors were promoted to Division 1 last season. We started brightly with some decent chances but the away keeper made some smart saves. The deadlock was finally broke on the half hour mark when George Lee smashed a 35 year free kick in. And he nearly did again with a similar effort but was denied by the post. On the stroke of half time G Lee’s ball in the box was headed in really well by Nathan Bell. After half time the Darlo side did improve but 10 mins later Bell squared Sam McKellar to make it 3! Late on Robert Peart was pulled down in the box for a penalty and Johno Robinson-Kirwin sent the keeper the wrong way for 4-0 and into the next round. The result seen us get a first clean sheet of the season and makes it 5 wins from 5. Subs R Peart, A Lee, Lumsdon and Robinson-Kirwin
