🎾🏆 Celebrating our 2026 Club Champions!

Our adult finalists showcased some fantastic tennis on Finals Day, with many closely fought matches, three-set battles and plenty of determination on court!

The results were:

🎾 Ladies’ Singles
Winner: Sara Hill
Runner-up: Ness James
Sara claimed the title after a thrilling three-set match.

🎾 Men’s Singles
Winner: Jeremy Aves
Runner-up: Andy Bott
Another hard-fought final that went all the way to three sets.

🎾 Ladies’ Doubles
Winners: Erika Taunton and Maz Dowding
Runners-up: Tracy Warren and Ness James

🎾 Men’s Doubles
Winners: Andy Bott and Marcus Law
Runners-up: Chris Draper and Andy Tiddiman
A closely contested match decided over three sets.

🎾 Mixed Doubles
Winners: Sophy Walker and Andy Bott
Runners-up: Heather Leathes-Wilson and Jeremy Aves

We also celebrated the winners of our Pickleball Championships, which were held on an earlier date:

🏓 Men’s Pickleball
Winner: Peter Randall
Runner-up: Stuart Nelson

Our Club Chairman, Ian Ford-Robertson, presented the prizes to this year’s champions and runners-up.

Congratulations to all our junior finalists, who produced some fantastic tennis during Sunday’s Club Championship Finals Day. It was brilliant to see their skill, determination and sportsmanship on court, with plenty of exciting rallies for our supporters to enjoy!

🎾🏆 A Finals Day to remember!

The weather may have kept us guessing, but our finalists carried on regardless - they treated us to some incredible tennis, with many matches going to three sets and featuring plenty of nail-biting tie-breaks.

It was fantastic to see such a brilliant turnout of supporters, both two-legged and four-legged! 🐾 Everyone enjoyed the fun, family atmosphere, along with a delicious BBQ. A special mention must go to young Alex, who did a fabulous job keeping everyone well fed with sausages and cheeseburgers! 🍔🌭

Days like this do not happen without a huge amount of work behind the scenes, so a massive thank you to Maria, Mark and the whole Committee for their hard work and organisation.

A brilliant day of tennis, teamwork and Club spirit. Thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped make it such a special occasion! 👏

Club Mornings have just had a serious upgrade, thanks to Caroline, Liz’s mum, who has very kindly donated her Nespresso machine to the Club!

All summer, our players have been battling it out on court, and now we’re down to the finalists!

Sunday 13 September is Stebbing Tennis Club’s 2026 Club Championships Finals Day. 🎾

We’ve got a fantastic day of tennis ahead, starting at 10am, with:

🎾 Ladies’ & Men’s Singles
🎾 9U & 10U Finals
🎾 Pickleball Presentation & Exhibition Match
🎾 Ladies’ & Men’s Doubles
🎾 14U & Mixed Doubles

🏆 Presentations will take place throughout the day.

Come down, cheer on our finalists and enjoy the atmosphere, with a cash BBQ and refreshments available too. 🌭☕️

🔥 A hotly contested win for our Ladies’ Vets! 🎾

Playing indoors in the heat away at David Lloyd Gidea Park, the team battled brilliantly to secure a fantastic 6–2 victory.

Erika (C) and Sophy won all four of their sets, while Tracy and Sara H added two more in an incredibly close contest that included two tie-breaks!

A brilliant team performance and a well-earned win. Well played, ladies! 🙌🎾

We’ve had a fabulous 5 weeks of summer camps at Stebbing Tennis Club! It’s been a pleasure to see lots of familiar faces as well as welcome many new budding tennis players to the club. With just one week of camps left we now look ahead to the autumn term. Junior group coaching starts on 1 September. 🎾 THREE IN A ROW FOR OUR LADIES 2ND TEAM! 🎾

What a fantastic run for our Ladies’ 2nd team, with three consecutive wins in Division 2! 🙌🎉

After victories away against Pleshey and Stansted & Puckeridge, the winning streak continued against Much Hadham, with an impressive 13–3 victory! 👏🎾

That takes the team’s record so far this summer to:

🎾 2 losses

A brilliant achievement in their first summer season since moving up to Division 2. 💪

After an epic 3.5 hours in the heat, our Ladies 1st Team came out on top with a fantastic 9–7 victory over Henham! 🎉🎾

A huge well done to Tracy (Captain), Natalie, Sara and Rorie for digging deep, staying focused and bringing home the win. 👏
