🌳 Party in the Park – More Than Just Karate! 🥋❤️

This weekend, Stevenage Karate Club swapped the dojo for the park as we came together for our annual Party in the Park – and what a fantastic day it was!

This wasn’t about karate grades, competitions or training. It was about something just as important… community.

Students, parents and adult members all came together to enjoy great food, drinks and plenty of fun. From tug of war and archery to bowls, football and an action-packed game of rounders, there was something for everyone. The laughter, smiles and friendly competition showed exactly what our club is all about.

At Stevenage Karate Club, we’re more than just a place to learn martial arts. We’re a family that supports one another, celebrates together and creates lasting friendships both on and off the mats.

Karate teaches confidence, discipline and respect, but being part of a club like ours also gives you a real sense of belonging. Events like these remind us that the friendships and memories we make are every bit as valuable as the skills we learn.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, brought food, joined in the games and helped make the day such a success. We are incredibly proud of the amazing community we’ve built together.

Event Event

Last Monday was a sad evening at Stevenage Karate Club as we said goodbye to Kris and his family, who are moving to a new area.

Kris has been an outstanding student and has worked hard to achieve his Green Belt. He has always been a pleasure to teach, showing dedication, respect, and a fantastic attitude every time he stepped onto the mat. He has also been a great friend to his fellow students and will be missed by everyone at the club.

As a small farewell, we presented Kris with a card signed by all of the students to remind him of the many friendships he has made here. We hope he finds another karate club near his new home so he can continue his journey and achieve even greater success.

From everyone at Stevenage Karate Club, we wish Kris and his family all the very best for the future. Good luck with your move—we know you’ll do us proud wherever your karate journey takes you! 🥋

🌞🥋 Training Through the Heat! 🥋🌞

With the hot weather making training extra challenging, tonight’s focus was on balance, posture, and control.

Our students took on a fun but demanding challenge by balancing a plastic cone on their heads while performing their kata. The aim was simple: maintain good posture, stay balanced, and complete the entire kata without the cone hitting the floor!

It’s a great exercise that reinforces body awareness, stability, and correct technique—all while adding a bit of fun to training.

Fantastic effort from everyone who took part. Your concentration and determination were excellent! A👏💪

🥋🏆 A huge well done to all of our students who competed at the JKAE Nationals this weekend!
We are incredibly proud of every one of you for representing Stevenage Karate Club with such determination, spirit, and sportsmanship.

The standard of competition was exceptionally high, with talented karateka from across the country showcasing their skills.

Special congratulations go to Soren and Luca on their fantastic performances. Soren brought home an impressive medal haul, winning 🥇 Gold in Kata, 🥈 Silver in Kumite, and Luca🥉 Bronze in Kumite. An outstanding achievement!

A big thank you to Sensei Adam for his continued coaching support throughout the event, and to all of our parents and families for their encouragement and support both before and during the competition.

We would also like to recognise Sensei Steve R and Sensei Steve D, who spent the day refereeing on Tatami 1 and Tatami 3, helping to ensure the competition ran smoothly and to the highest standards.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your training continue to make the club proud.
