Our peak pose for March is:
Ardha Chandrasana - Half Moon Pose ππ
- Strengthens core, glutes and legs (quads, hamstrings, calves).
- Opens chest & hips.
- It is a difficult pose because it demands a combination of core strength, hip flexibility, balance and coordination, challenging you to keep your pelvis open, hips stacked and standing leg strong while reaching into length.
Spiritual meaning of Ardha Chandrasana:
The posture is a reminder that no matter what happens on the outside, who we are inside is unchanging and powerful. It reminds us that no matter how we feel today, change will come sooner or later and your truest self is always pure.
Have a fabulous week and see you on the mat on Friday ππ

So today our peak pose was crow π¦ββ¬
A difficult one and a pose that can seem unobtainable to some.
So itβs lovely to see everyone having a go. And we did this by trying out lots of variations, with & without props and generally just getting the feel of the pose.
Next week we will do this again, in fact it will be in our practice for the next 3 weeks.
Why? So that we can keep building and keep practicing and then get to the best version of crow that suits you and your body.
Iβm expecting to see a wonderful variety of crows in week 4 πππ
Benefits of crow:
- Strengthens Core, Shoulders, Wrists
- Improves Balance & Focus
- Builds confidence
In the meantime here is my version of the crow π¦ββ¬
Have a wonderful weekend and keep practicing π₯°π

Absolutely love this π
Never thought Iβd teach yoga π§ββοΈ and here we are. And so lucky to have a fabulous bunch of students every Friday β€οΈ
"I'm not a math person."
"I'm not creative."
"I'm just not good at sales."
"I'm not a morning person."
These aren't personality traits. They're just stories you told yourself so many times they started feeling like facts.
At some point, you tried something, it didn't work, and you made it part of your identity. Now that identity runs the show. It decides what you attempt and what you don't. What's "realistic" and what isn't.
You're not protecting who you are. You're protecting who you were.
That's expensive. Every "I'm just not that kind of person" closes a door you never actually tested. You're making decisions based on data from years ago, collected by a version of you that doesn't exist anymore.
The cage feels like self-awareness. It's not. It's just old observations you stopped questioning.
You can update this stuff at any time.
"I wasn't a morning person" is available. "I haven't been good at sales" works too. Past tense. Room to change.
The person you could become doesn't need you to be someone else. They just need you to stop insisting you're only who you've already been.

I write a weekly newsletter where I unpack these ideas.

Something we try and include in our practice each week, slowing down the breath and looking for that moment between breaths.
Stillness between the inhale and the exhale.
Not holding the breath but arriving into it and continuing when we are ready.
You can apply the same process to your reactions. Give yourself time to process and then respond. β€οΈπ
Most people react too fast.
To anger.
To fear.
To stress.
To assumptions.
To impulses that hijack the mind and ruin peace.
But hereβs the truth only a few understand:
β¨ Your power begins the moment you slow down. β¨
When you delay your reaction β even by a few seconds β something incredible happens:
You stop letting emotions drive your decisions.
You stop letting fear cloud your judgment.
You stop letting anger speak for you.
π‘ The wisdom lives in the pause.
In that quiet moment between what happens to you and what you choose to do next.
In the pause, you see peopleβs intentions more clearly.
You see the situation without distortion.
You respond with maturity, not madness.
You protect relationships, your peace, and your future.
The pause saves you from mistakes.
The pause keeps you aligned.
The pause is your superpower.
So remember:
π₯ Slow DOWN to speed UP.
Slow down to think.
Slow down to breathe.
Slow down to choose the wiser path.
Because the person who can master the pauseβ¦
can master themselves β and eventually, their entire life.

I had the pleasure of teaching a yoga class for runners last Friday in aid of the Willow Foundation which is our Running clubs Fairlands Valley Spartans charity this year π

Itβs been a while since I have posted but came across this today and it resonated with me.
Yoga is for EVERYONE but sometimes we get caught up in how we think a pose should look like instead of focusing on what we feel in our body when we get into our body using the different poses.
Not judging it, just observing and noticing π₯°
Just a reminder that yoga will be on at 9am tomorrow.
It will be back to the usual time of 9:30 the following week.
Hope you are all enjoying that lovely sunshine βΊοΈ
See you tomorrow π
