Finals Day delivered once again with some great tennis and a wonderful atmosphere. A big thank you to all who came along to support the finalists and to those who worked behind the scenes providing the Pimms, tea and cakes. Our 2026 winners are: Sammy Tidley, Tom Hallett, Jo O’Dell & Liz Munro, Tom Hallett & Mike Hobbs, and Julia Searle & Adam Tyson. Congratulations, too, to runners-up: Benita Hibbert, Joe Batchelor, Nicky Wycherley & Diana Stewart, Tom Clare & Simon Clavell-Bate, and Jo O’Dell & JP Gerard.
Also huge congratulations to our most improved player of the year, Martin Judd, and Junior of the Year, Tao L.

Following on from last week's 1st team's success, the Men's 2nds clinched promotion with a 4-0 win at Wickwoods in their last match of the season. Great stuff.

Congratulations to the Men’s 1st Team (pictured) who have won their Summer league despite having to forfeit 3 rubbers due to injury. No doubt they’ll be wanting a full time physio 🙂. The Men’s 2nd Team are also in with a shot at winning their division with the final match coming up on Sunday. Good luck to them.
Matching them are the Women’s teams - congratulations to the 2nds for winning their division and to the 1sts for gaining promotion by finishing as runners-up. The 3rds have played all their matches and are currently sitting 2nd but need the results from the last round of matches to go their way to stay there.
Great to see our teams doing so well.

A great day for the annual Foster Cup. Fun tennis, delicious food and a glass of Pimms/Prosecco - the recipe for a successful day. Congratulations to winners Verity & Simon and well done to runners up Gemma & Jensen. And thanks to all those who worked hard to make the day as good as it was (you know who you are)!

Our junior league teams finished their season this weekend, and what great season it was!

Our 16&U boys team finished 2nd with wins over Middleton & The Holbrook Club, losing to Angmering by the tightest of margins with every match going to a championship tiebreak.

Our 14&U boys team topped their league, beating Amherst, Hollingbury Park and Horsham.

Our 9&U were in a very tough group, fought hard and had some good performances. They lost to a very experienced Pav and Ave team and Angmering team.

Our 8&U boys topped their league, beating West Worthing, Chichester and Billingshurst.

Well done to our league players - Tao, Jensen, Luke, Josh, Will, Raff, Lincoln, Leo, Kasper, Jesse, Sebi and Remi. And of course a big thank you to the parents for taking them all to the fixtures.

It’s great to see you all compete. Make sure to enter lots of individual tournaments over the summer!

Don't forget, it's Steyning Tennis Club's Open Day this Saturday. Free sessions for children and adults and a free BBQ. Summer's here and Wimbledon's just round the corner. So why not have a go yourself? Steyning Tennis Club is hosting an open day as part of the Festival on Saturday, May 23rd with free sessions for children and adults. All welcome whatever your experience. No racket? Glorious afternoon for today’s social session and good to see some of our younger members taking part. Nevertheless, experience prevailed with the oldies (aggregate age 130) beating the youngsters (aggregate age 32)!

Congratulations to our winners of our Play Your Way To Wimbledon Event at Steyning. Our girls winner, Freya, and our boys winner, Luke, have qualified for the county finals next month in Worthing, with a chance of progressing to the national finals on the grass courts at Wimbledon. Well done too to our runners up Isabel and Josh who will have to wait and see if they qualify. Thanks to everyone who took part and those who supported the event.
