With the summer just around the corner have you noticed nature is coming into full bloom?

I recently started a herbal medicine course & I have been loving learning more about what plants are in season along with their healing benefits.

It's opened my eyes to just how many medicinal wildflowers are growing all around us in abundance, often unnoticed right on our doorstep.

It's also been a wonderful opportunity to slow down, observe the seasons more closely, & reconnect with the plant wisdom that has been passed down through generations.

One plant I've been particularly excited to find is Comfrey, often referred to as "knitbone" in traditional herbal medicine due to its long history of supporting tissue repair and healing.

Last week I made my own Comfrey balm to see if it would help a sore arm/shoulder I've been dealing with for over a month.

Due to the complexity of my health I'm not entirely sure whether it's menopause or, lupus related, or a combination of both.

Some might say it's the placebo effect, but the discomfort has reduced significantly, the pain has eased, & I'm starting to regain more range of movement again.

The more I've been foraging the more amazed I am to know that there are so many plants growing wild around us that have been used for centuries to support our health & wellbeing.

Have you ever used Comfrey or explored an other healing plants growing on your doorstep?

I'd love to hear about your experiences or tips?

And if you'd like the recipe or would like to try some of my homemade Comfrey balm.

Comment or DM Comfrey

Disclaimer: Comfrey is generally recommended for external use only & should be used with appropriate guidance.

In a last-minute decision, I decided to join the Playcation weekend retreat, and I am so glad I did 🙌🏾

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when the memo for Saturday night included channelling your inner Care Bear 🐻🌈😅

But I ended up having so much fun embracing my inner raver baby Care Bear 💃🏽✨

One thing I noticed throughout the retreat, & similarly at other events I've attended recently, is a shift within myself.

For years, I went to events looking to heal, to work on myself, to find answers, etc.

But these days, the tears come less & less. Instead, I find myself feeling more content & more joyful.

Someone once asked me, "How do you know when you've healed?"

For me, healing is realising your life is no longer centred around your wounds, but in the happiness you create.

When you no longer feel the need to endlessly delve into past experiences, analysing, searching for answers, or trying to understand everything.

When you stop constantly looking backwards and start living forwards.

When you realise that healing practices, modalities, teachers, guides will only take you so far, & that they should all be leading you back home to yourself.

As Ram Dass said, "The real work takes place in the privacy of your own heart."

Of course, the pain will always be part of your story, but it doesn't have to define who you are.

Healing is choosing yourself.

Choosing laughter.

Choosing fun.

Choosing love & connection.

And, of course, choosing to dance come rain or shine 💃✨

For anyone who needs to hear it today, trust that you can get there 🤍

Grateful for the opportunity to share practices that have been so instrumental on my own healing journey.

Practices like yoga, breathwork, and sound baths may sound like simple or token gestures to some.

But I truly believe they plant seeds of hope, inspiration, and positive change.

Sometimes it's the simple things that spark the biggest transformations.

Another retreat over ✨🤍

If only every weekend could be like my Spring Awakening Retreat. I've spent the last week processing all of the wonderful moments we shared & it's always impossible to capture it with words.

Slow, mindful mornings listening to the birds sing whilst practising yoga, breathwork & meditation.

Nourishing soul food by the extremely talented 👌🏾

Enjoying the clear sunny skies & nature all around us.

Baring our vulnerable hearts with deep, meaningful chats around the fire & dancing to our favourite songs under the stars.

And of course, plenty of fun & laughter along the way.

I'm so grateful to all of the incredible women who said yes to themselves & entrusted me to guide them through the weekend.

Despite our different ages & walks of life, the connections I witnessed being formed were something truly special.

You will all stay in my heart & I can't wait for our catch-up soon 🤍

A huge thank you also to James & Jennifer for the perfect venue & helping to make the retreat run so smoothly.

I love that they are creating something truly magical right in the heart of Stirling 💫

I try to remember that my attention is an expression of love—and to place my attention where love calls it.

When someone listens to us with presence and attention it is an expression of love.

It is a gift of love I give with every encounter. It is also a gift I give myself —to be more lovingly present in my own life.

So when I ask myself at the start of each day, “What is mine to do” I answer myself “be present, be loving, pay attention—this too changes the world.”

We are all unique… so why do most of us follow a one-size-fits-all approach to our health & wellbeing?

Ayurveda recognises that each of us is born with our own unique blueprint, known as our Prakriti.
This is your natural mind & body type made up of a combination of the 5 elements known as the Doshas.

Over time, through lifestyle, stress, diet, environment & life experiences, we shift out of balance.
This is your Vikriti… your current state of imbalance where symptoms like fatigue, anxiety & inflammation begin.

The role of Ayurveda isn’t to change who you are.
It’s to bring you back into rememberance & alignment with your true nature.

Start by asking yourself: When I'm at my best, what does that feel like?

For some of us it might have been that long you can't remember what that feels like!

By understanding your balanced/imbalanced dosha state you begin to work with your body instead of against it.

And that’s how real, sustainable & lasting changes in your health & wellbeing happen.

If you’re curious to find out more, keep an eye out for my next few videos where I'll be breaking down the doshas.
