I’ve never felt prouder to be Scottish than I do today…

As I’m driving down the road, cars are flying the saltires out the window.

A dad walking down the street kisses his wee boy on the head. They’re both wearing Scotland tops. He holds a football in his hands.

We’re a small country. But we’re a proud country. And that’s what makes us special.

From the day we were born we were an underdog.

We had to shout to be heard.

There’s no surprise ‘Flower of Scotland’ could be heard on the streets of Boston miles away from the stadium.

At the end of the day, yes it is just a game.

But for me this coming together represents a nation of people connected by a strong sense that we are in fact greater than people give us credit for.

And that we have a point to prove.

People aren’t bound by football.

They’re bound by a sense of connection.

And there’s no better unification than a group of people who believe in the impossible, no matter how many times they’ve been defeated in the past 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

“Why the f*** are you friends with me? I’m a dick”

I turned to ben, drunk and confused, and awaited his response…

We were on a night out in Glasgow. And for some reason I’d chosen this exact moment to confront him.

“You are a dick… But you’re our dick” he replied laughing.

That summer I’d started to take my health more seriously. I was so fed up of playing the victim and seeing others do ‘better’ than me, that I’d began reading books, going on long runs and lifting heavy in the gym.

The impact this had on me was far deeper than just my physical health. Whilst exercising - my mind had broke free and was able to ask some important questions.

Why do I never have any energy? Why am I always irritable? Why does that result in me not being a good friend?

I didn’t know it at the time - but when you combine exercise with learning. And you exercise to feel good rather than look good…

A spontaneous magic sets off in your brain that begins to form new behaviours and habits.

Next, I tested it on my PT clients. Because I now had the recipe written down, their results were even better than mine. The programme went viral online.

I often wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t combined physical and mental health together. I wouldn’t have grown a fitness business that helps people from all over the world. I likely wouldn’t have even got out of bed 😅😂…
