β¨Just a gal waiting for her yogi pals for yoga and coffee The Yoga Tree Stirling and The Burgh Coffeehouse πππ»β€οΈβ¨
Thank you to everyone who joined us for another sold out *Reset, Rebalance & Restore* spring into summer workshop π₯πΏβ¨
Together we explored breathwork π¬οΈ, a gentle hatha vinyasa flow πΈ, yin practices supporting the liver & gallbladder yet dipping into the heart & small intestine channels π, and a deeply nourishing Yoga Nidra π€
The high energy stepping into summer in Stirling wafted through the studio windows with a marching band that fitted beautifully into our practice (if you know you know π) bringing a warmth and energy into our practice.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful spaceπ«
Our 20th June workshop is full, but get in touch for our waitlist and youβll be first to know about the workshops to come after summer.
Come join us ππ»π₯°

So Ham β€οΈππ»π«
If you listen closely, your breath is already repeating a mantra.
In yoga, mantra is traditionally understood as a βtool for the mindββa way of placing and steadying attention. Or, as Rolf Sovik described it: βa thought that protects, guides, and leads.β
Soβham (pronounced βso-humβ) is a mantra that moves with the breath. Rather than creating the sound, you listen for it.
Inhale: a subtle so
Exhale: a quiet hum
In traditional yoga teachings, these syllables are associated with a deeper meaning.
So (βThatβ) refers to pure, undivided consciousness.
Aham (βIβ) refers to the whole of who you take yourself to be.
Together, soβham: βI am That.β
As your attention settles into the mantra within the breath, its meaning becomes less conceptual and more directβ
less identification with each passing thought,
more familiarity with the awareness in which those thoughts arise.
Because the breath is continuous, this yoga technique can be threaded through ordinary momentsβwalking to your next meeting, looking out the window, even waiting for the toast to pop.
A quiet thread of recognition, always available.
