Sunshine on the Summits ☀️

T-shirt weather on Dumyat? Don't let the sunshine fool you.

A bluebird day in the Ochils or Trossachs is unbeatable, but the Scottish weather has a mind of its own. What starts as a warm hike can turn into a chilly, exposed summit.

🫗Water & sunscreen: Exposed trails mean no shade. Bring more water than you think you need.

🧥Pack the layers: Even in summer, summit winds on Ben Ledi can drastically drop your core temperature. Always pack a waterproof jacket and a warm mid-layer.

🥾 Wear appropriate footwear: Leave the flip flops and crocs at home

🗺️ Plan you route: Save the map to offline section of your phone but even better take a physical map you never know when your phone may lose signal or battery.

🫕Leave the BBQ at home: High fire risk during dry spells means no campfires or disposable BBQs. Protect our landscape!

16 July, 5pm - Glenmore Forest Park closed

The entirety of Glenmore Forest Park has been evacuated due to a large wildfire.

A police road-block is operational at Coylumbridge. All pedestrian and cyclist access routes are also closed until further notice.

Please DO NOT attempt to access the site as it is unsafe and you will be turned back by emergency services.

This large-scale operation is ongoing in Glenmore to control the large wildfire which broke out near Ryvoan Bothy.
