Incredible weekend for our BJJ team.

Mark (Gi Coach) leads from the front finishing zero zero against 13 times world champion Roberto Godoi one of the legends of our sport.

Christopher taking 1st in no gi, 2nd in absolutes and 2nd in GI. Lovely head and arm chokes all morning

James also taking second in the GI, third place in no Gi. Great straight arm lock and kimura.

To celebrate we are going to offer free BJJ training for the remainder of September to new members.

Everyone at our gym is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Colin Cairney.

Although we didn’t have the privilege of knowing Colin personally, it’s clear from the many tributes that he was very much loved, hugely respected, and made a lasting impact on so many people.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.

May his dedication, character, and passion for the sport continue to inspire the next generation of boxers and martial artists. His name and legacy will not be forgotten.

🥋 BIG COACHING NEWS AT CHIMERA! 🥋

We’re very excited to welcome Mark Lobwein to the Chimera coaching team!

Mark is a highly experienced and well-regarded Australian BJJ black belt who recently moved to Stirling. He’s currently training full-time at the Griphouse while preparing for the World Championships — and from this Tuesday, he’ll be taking our Tuesday evening Gi class.

As a Gi specialist, Mark brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the mats, and we’re delighted to have him joining the team.

This Thursday, black belt Gary Priestly kicks off his No-Gi coaching journey with us, adding another hugely experienced coach to the weekly timetable.

And of course, our regular Sunday No-Gi class with Andrew continues as normal — another key part of what is becoming a seriously strong weekly BJJ programme at Chimera.
