Yesterday saw Mobile Clay Pigeon Scotland, a sister company to Hunting Scotland, host a clay target experience day for the Keepers of the Quaich at Ballathie House Hotel in Perthshire. The event was a massive success, with even the weather playing along!

The frequency of this type of event is increasing year on year, with many rural hotels and large houses now offering such experiences to their guests, with clubs, societies, corporate groups and weddings all taking advantage of this increasingly popular experience.

Have you ever considered extending your pheasant season? Hunting Scotland recently took advantage of the fact that the Hungarian season extends through until the end of February each year. Our team of friends departed the UK early February and flew to Budapest where we were collected on arrival by a driver from Chateau Matra and transported us directly to the lodge (this is our third trip since the end of Covid restrictions!). We lived like royalty for the duration of our stay at Matra and hunted two days back-to-back. All of the party were so impressed by the trip that we have already booked to return again next year!

The cost savings are significant; per bird costs are approximately half that of the UK and even taking into account flights and accommodation at the lodge our entire stay cost around the same as a driven day in the UK!

Mobile Clay Pigeons Scotland a part of Hunting Scotland had a wonderful day today. A local business guy had a mixed team of friends and clients from all over the UK and asked us to provide a Clay Pigeon Experience on top of the Gargunnock and Kippen Hills - as if getting up on top of there was not spectacular enough the wonderful scenery where the traps were placed next to a Grouse Lunch Cabin and was a great venue and with amazing scenery.
The guests experience was from none to fairly experienced and enjoyed by all equally.
The group finished up with a BBQ and this was where we left them to it.
We are heading back up to this venue for another of these with a visiting team of Americans - should be a great experience for them.

SHOOTING SEASON ENDED , no more pheasants 😊👍

So we headed to the far away corner of BAJA CAIFORNIA to CABO SAN LUCAS - again!!!

So Johnnie and I’s holiday and fishing trip has come to an end, tomorrow we fly home , very sad really as Cabo San Lucas has lots of good memories for us.
We have been out here probably 8 times now since 2007 and we just love it.
Normally there are groups of around 6 - 10 come out but not this time.

Weather, food, beer, hotel and the people are just the best.
Mexican food is great - really !!!

Fishing - now then , this is one of the main reasons we come all this distance ( around 36hours to get here and 24hrs back - door to door) so not for everyone.

Anyway this year the two of us managed a fantastic haul really.

4 striped marlin
1 mako shark
6 dorado
5 tuna
40+ inshore fish of 5 differ species

Sunday 18th December saw us hosting our annual Christmas Simulated Day at our Stirling site. Once again a wonderful day was had by all with a good turn out despite the inclement weather! This year saw a good mix of regular game shots and clay-target shots, with plenty targets to challenge both.

Hunting Scotland - Simulated Game Shooting - our latest events.
Well what a great two days on Friday and Saturday with two private bookings with some serious game shooters. The weather was excellent with sunshine and a strong wind which made the shooting very special indeed - for game shooters this was genuine practice at its best.

Two teams of very seasoned Game shooters and i think they would agree that very challenging in deed - very good practice indeed.

With very short supply of actual game shoots for this season and also very high costs then maybe you want to come and try our Simulated Game Shoot - at least you will have some shooting with your friends which surely is the most important thing ?

Why don't you get in touch and bring your team along - Perthshire or Stirling, surely one of these will suit your group.
