🌟 Meet the Horses – M is for Miller! 🌟

Say hello to our adorable Miller! 🐴💙

Miller is one of the younger horses in our riding school and, while he may look very sweet and innocent, don’t let that adorable face fool you… he is most definitely our cheeky, mischievous boy! 😇😂💕

If you hear the suspicious clatter of something falling off the side in the stable block, chances are you left it within reach of Miller’s stable! 🙈😂 If something catches his eye while he’s out on the Downs, he absolutely has to investigate 👀🌿… and if the hay barrow is left unattended on the yard, you can pretty much guarantee Miller will find his way to it! 🌾🐴😂

He certainly keeps us all on our toes — and, thanks to his slight lack of awareness of just how big he is, he’s also managed to stand on a couple of them along the way! 😬😂🐴

But underneath all that mischief is an absolutely adorable young horse with bags of personality, and it’s very difficult not to fall in love with him. 🥰💙 Life is certainly never boring when Miller is around!

You’ll find Miller by the door in our middle barn, and he’s always very happy to receive some love and attention. 🐴💕 If you’d like to give him a treat, please pop it over his stable door rather than feeding it from your hand. As he’s still a youngster, we don’t want to encourage any cheeky nipping habits… although given half a chance, he’ll happily raid your pockets himself! 😂🥕👀

🌟 Meet the Horses – M is for Merlin! 🌟

Say hello to our gorgeous Merlin! 🐴💙

Merlin is one of our older boys and a true gentle giant. 🥰❤️ With his kind nature and love of a good groom and plenty of fuss, he’s always happy to stop for a bit of attention. 🪮🤗

Like his good friend Benji, Merlin has now retired from life in the arena and is enjoying a slightly more leisurely pace of life. 🌿🐴 But don’t let retirement fool you — Merlin still absolutely loves getting out on a hack and certainly hasn’t lost his love for a good canter! 🐎💨😂

He’s just as happy taking things easy though, enjoying a lovely relaxed stroll around the Downs and taking in the scenery. 🌳☀️ Whether it’s a gentle wander or the chance to stretch his legs, Merlin is always happy to be out and about. 💚

You’ll find Merlin in our back stable block, quite often with his head hanging over the door while he happily munches away… and somehow manages to drop half of his hay on the floor in the process! 🙈😂🌾🐴 He’ll love you forever if you pick it up and pop it back over his door for him! 🥰😂💙

🌟 Meet the Horses – M is for Margo! 🌟

Say hello to our beautiful Margo! 🐴🖤

Margo is a gorgeous black cob and one of our lovely liveries. She is owned by Katy, who very kindly allows us to share Margo with our riding school clients. 💕 She’s ridden by riders of all ages and is a much-loved member of our team. 🐎✨

Margo has to be one of the most loving and affectionate mares you’ll ever meet! 🥰❤️ She absolutely adores a cuddle, a good fuss and plenty of attention — and if there happens to be a carrot or two involved, she certainly won’t say no! 🥕😂🐴

With her sweet nature and affectionate personality, it’s very difficult to walk past Margo without stopping to say hello and give her a little cuddle. 🤗💕

You’ll find Margo in the stables on our main yard, so be sure to pop your head over the door and say hello next time you’re passing! 👋🐴🖤 Just watch out… she may have you trained to bring carrots before long! 🥕😂

🌟 Meet the Horses – C is for Charlie! 🌟

Say hello to our stunning Charlie! 🐴💙

Charlie is our cheeky, almost geeky 🤓, but undeniably gorgeous Welsh D! 😍🥰 He’s certainly got plenty of personality and is always interested in what’s going on around him. ❤️🐴

Charlie is one of our more advanced horses as he can be rather keen to get on with life! 🐎💨 He likes to keep his rider on their toes, but get it right and he is an absolute reward to ride. 💙 There’s something very special about those rides where everything comes together with Charlie! ✨🥰

When he’s not working in the arena, Charlie loves getting out and about on hacks — often accompanied by Kat (and John!) 🌳🐎😂❤️

You’ll usually find Charlie in our back stable block, keeping a very close eye on all the comings and goings around the yard. 👀🐴 After all, somebody has to know what everyone is up to! 🤓😂

🐴✨ ADULT RIDING CLUB SPACES AVAILABLE! ✨🐴

We’ve got some exciting news for our adult riders! 🥰

As part of the changes we’ve been working on behind the scenes, we’re expanding our hacking spaces and now have availability for new Adult Riding Club members. 🐎💚

Whether you’re looking to develop your riding with regular lessons, enjoy getting out of the arena for a hack, or a bit of both, we have some new spaces available:

🐴 Thursday afternoons — Private lessons or hacking with our lovely Emily 🤍

🐎☕ Thursday 11am Ride & Unwind — enjoy an hour’s hack, followed by the chance to hang out, have a cuppa and enjoy some horsey company!

🌿 Saturday — 12:30pm — One-hour hack across the scenic Stockbridge Downs 🐎✨

🌿 Sunday — 12:00pm — One-hour hack across the scenic Stockbridge Downs 🐎✨

Our Riding Club membership is perfect for adults who want to ride regularly, build their confidence and skills, and become part of our friendly riding community. 🤍

These are just some of the times we have available — more information on our memberships, including further riding times, can be found on our website. 💻✨

🌟 Meet the Horses – C is for Casper! 🌟

Say hello to our gorgeous Casper! 🐴🤍

Casper may be our smallest ridden pony, but he certainly has one of the biggest hearts! 💕 Owned by our lovely yard manager Amy, this little superstar has quickly become a firm favourite with everyone who meets him. 🥰

Casper has taken the lead alongside Biscuit in our Little Hooves sessions, where his sweet nature and little size make him the perfect member of the team. 🐴👣💚

He also absolutely loves hacking and is always happy to head out and about for an adventure! 🌳🐎

Some of our clients might remember Casper when he first arrived at the yard… a very hairy little mud monster! 🙈😂 Fast forward to now and he has completely transformed into the smartest little pony, looking like he belongs in the show ring! ✨🏆 Just look at him now! 😍

Small pony, huge heart and a personality that makes him impossible not to love. 🤍🐴

You’ll usually find Casper in our middle block, so be sure to say hello when you’re passing! 👋🐴 If he’s out in the field, chances are he won’t be far from his best friend Benji — those two are often found together! 🐴💕🐴

🐴🤍 WOW… WHAT A RESPONSE TO LITTLE HOOVES! 🤍🐴

We have been absolutely blown away by the response to our new Little Hooves sessions! 🥹✨ Thank you so much to everyone who has messaged, enquired and shared our post.

We’ve had a LOT of messages coming through, so please bear with me while I work my way through replying to everyone — I promise I’ll get back to you! 🥰

I’ve also had a few of the same questions popping up, so hopefully this helps:

🐴 When can we book?
We’re open Wednesday to Sunday, so when messaging, please send over your preferred days/times and we can let you know what we have available.

🤍 Are Little Hooves sessions going to be a regular thing?
Yes! Little Hooves is a permanent addition to Stockbridge and sessions are booked on an ad-hoc basis, rather than running as a set course. So please don’t worry if you can’t book straight away — they aren’t going anywhere and we’ll always do our best to find you a slot! 🥰

👭 Can siblings or friends come together?
Absolutely! We can accommodate two children within the same session, so siblings or friends can enjoy their Little Hooves experience together. Sessions are £30 per child.

👢 What should they wear?
Please wear leggings or trousers, with a long-sleeved top or T-shirt (no strappy tops), and boots with a heel.

🌱 What happens after Little Hooves?
Little Hooves is designed as that lovely first step into the world of horses — a chance for little ones to meet the ponies, learn some basic pony care and experience being in the saddle. 🐴✨

If they catch the horsey bug (and we have a feeling a few might! 🤭), children who are ready to progress to regular riding lessons, longer rides and continue developing their riding can then take the next step by joining our Riding Club membership. 💚

(Our children’s Riding Club membership is currently full, but please get in touch if you’d like to be added to our waiting list.)

🌟 Meet the Horses – B is for Biscuit! 🌟

Say hello to our beautiful Biscuit! 🐴💛

Biscuit is a gorgeous dun pony with the most beautiful, unique eyes that make her truly stand out. ✨👀 She is a real sweetheart who absolutely loves attention, cuddles and spending time with people. 🥰

Biscuit is owned by the lovely Alex 💕 and we’re very lucky to have her as such a special part of our team here at the yard. 🐴✨

Biscuit is also very good at letting you know when she wants some extra love… usually with a little “excuse me, I’m here!” kick on the stable door! 😂💕 She certainly knows how to get your attention!

Biscuit plays an important role here at the yard. 🐎💚 She helps our beginner riders take their first steps into the world of riding, is a favourite with our Little Trotters, and is also one of our wonderful therapy ponies. 🌈✨

Whether she’s helping someone learn, enjoying cuddles, or simply soaking up the attention she loves so much, Biscuit always brings a little bit of magic to the yard. 🥰

🐴✨ INTRODUCING… LITTLE HOOVES! ✨🐴

We told you we’d been busy behind the scenes… and here’s another exciting addition we can finally share with you! 🥰

Say hello to Little Hooves — our brand-new pony sessions designed especially for little ones aged 4–7 years old. 🤍🐴

We know that getting into the saddle for the very first time can feel like a BIG adventure when you’re little, so Little Hooves is all about providing a fun, gentle and friendly introduction to the wonderful world of ponies. 🌟

Each 30-minute session is split into two parts:

🪮 15 minutes of grooming & pony care
Little ones can brush and stroke their pony while learning all about our friendly ponies and how we care for them. 🤍

🐎 15 minutes of lead-rein riding
Then it’s time to hop in the saddle and enjoy a gentle lead-rein ride around our arena or fields (weather and time permitting)! ✨

There’s no previous riding experience needed — these sessions are all about having fun, building confidence and creating those special first pony memories. 🥹🐴

✨ Ages 4–7 years
✨ 30-minute session
✨ £30 per child
✨ Safe, fun & friendly environment

And who knows… they might just catch the horsey bug! 🐴💚 For those who do, Little Hooves is the perfect first step towards progressing onto our Riding Club membership and continuing their riding journey with us. 🥰🐎

We popped down to Stockbridge’s Trout n About today to hand out some leaflets and meet the locals! ☀️We had a great time, met some lovely people and had quick photo with this lovely sparkly tall lady! Unfortunately she is too tall for any of our horses! 😆😆
