✨Yin Yoga is Back inspireHER CIC | Connection • Wellness • Support ✨
I’m so looking forward to returning to Inspire Her, Hazel Grove next Tuesday 28th at 6:30pm to share an evening of slow, nourishing Yin Yoga.
This class will be inspired by the 🔥 Fire Element of
☯️ Traditional Chinese Medicine, exploring the ❤️ Heart and Small Intestine meridians—the energetic pathways associated with joy, connection, love and discernment.
As we move into the fullness of summer, we’ll soften into long-held postures supported by props, creating space to release physical tension and quiet the mind. Together we’ll explore what it means to open the heart, reconnect with ourselves and gently let go of anything that no longer nourishes us.
Our mantra for this season and gateway to exploring the summer meridians will be: ‘I will offer myself the same kindness as I give to others’ 🫶🏼
Whether you’re completely new to Yin or already love the practice, this class is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and simply be.

Mantras on and off the mat…
In this evening’s extended candlelit Yin class at YOGA ON THE EDGE , we worked with the seasonal meridians of the Heart and Small Intestine, and the Fire element.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Heart governs our capacity for joy, connection, love and presence, while the Small Intestine helps us discern what truly nourishes us from what no longer serves us.
💕 Our mantra for practice was: “I will offer myself the same kindness as I give to others.”
As we settled into the poses, we noticed any frustration or resistance that arose. Rather than judging it, we met it with kindness, quietly repeating our mantra and reminding ourselves why we’d chosen to show up. What would truly nourish us in that moment?
At the end of class, I invited everyone to carry this mantra beyond the mat. To notice the small moments throughout the day where we have a choice—to choose what genuinely nourishes us, cultivating more inner joy one decision at a time.
Because our practice isn’t only what happens on the mat… it’s how we live our lives.
As I reflected afterwards, I realised there are some small changes I can make…
💤 Choosing an earlier night when I’m feeling depleted, instead of reaching for the glass of wine that’s become a little too tempting in the warm weather.
🍃 Going for the daily walk that grounds me (and that my daughter loves so much), instead of trying to tick off just one more thing from a to-do list that never really ends.
💦 Stopping to drink more water instead of automatically reaching for another coffee that I don’t actually need. My body—and my nervous system—will thank me for it. 🫣
They’re all things I’d encourage a friend to do without hesitation, yet they’re often the hardest choices to make for ourselves when we’re tired, busy and stretched.
So this is my summer mantra—and perhaps one to carry beyond the season too: 💕 “I will offer myself the same kindness as I give to others.”
If you’d like to join me, you can find me every
Thursday at 7.15pm for Yin & Nidra at YOGA ON THE EDGE

✨ Tending the Inner Flame ✨
✨ Summer Candlelit Yin | 28 June | 6pm ✨
YOGA ON THE EDGE
🕯 90-minute extended candlelit Yin
❤️ Fire Element • Heart & Small Intestine Meridians
✨ Suitable for all levels
Join me for a special 90-minute extended candlelit practice inspired by the Fire Element and the energy of summer.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is associated with the Heart and Small Intestine meridians. The Heart governs our capacity for joy, connection, love and presence, while the Small Intestine helps us discern what truly nourishes us and what no longer serves us.
This practice will be an invitation to slow down and turn inward, exploring the relationship between self-love and self-care. Cultivating compassion towards ourselves creates the foundation from which we can genuinely care for others and receive love in return.
Through long-held yin postures, breath and stillness, we’ll gently work with the Heart and Small Intestine meridians, creating space for openness, clarity and a more balanced expression of Fire energy.

🕯️ Extended Candlelit Yin | Sunday 22nd March 6-7.30pm | 🕯️
A gentle invitation to pause and rekindle your inner space with an evening of long nourishing holds facilitated by props and calm, conscious breath; reconnection before the week begins.
Themed around the Spring meridians of the liver and gallbladder, we’ll draw on the reservoir of energy created during the deep rest of our winter yin practice, to create the momentum for the energetic growth that starts to build with the rising yang energy at this time of year.
This pop up is designed to ‘spring clean’ the liver and gallbladder meridians of any stuck or bound energy and to balance the wood element, encouraging mental flexibility and kindness based resilience for the incoming rising energy ahead.
💫 If this style of practice speaks to you, then come and join me every -
🌛| Thursday evening for Yin & Nidra, 7.15pm |🌜 for more deep nourishing holds and an indulgent yogic sleep/meditation, complete with weighted eye pillow and blankets (nidra).
Hope to see you on the mat and to have the pleasure of guiding you inwards and back to centre.

One of the things I love most about teaching yoga is connecting with people.
There’s many other things I love about it, but this week that’s the aspect that’s stood out to me.
It’s as simple as listening to the stories of someone’s week, their future plans or the way the class has landed for them.
The beautiful thing is, sometimes I’ve not met that person before but at the end of the class they’re in the moment, they’ve opened up. Somethings shifted since they walked in the room and they’re sharing who they really are.
As a yoga teacher you can feel it, see it in a student’s expressions, body language, hear it in the tone of their voice.
It’s really one of the things that fills my heart up and reminds me of something I’ve always believed since childhood…
Deep down, we are all the same. Yes we’re all made out of the same physical stuff, apart from the minor external differences…Yes life’s circumstances can create layers of of psychological and emotional differences…but deeper than that…
The essence of who we are energetically, all the same.
A full circle reminder of what yoga really means. To yoke, join, unite or connect your spiritual being with the physical and mental. A felt realisation beyond that, that we’re all connected and share a universal consciousness permeating everyone and everything.
So thank you to everyone who’s turned up to my classes and cover classes this week.
I’ve had the best time meeting you, sharing energy, holding space for you. To be honest, through this connection I’ve realised that something has shifted in me this week too. Something that’s been holding me back for the longest time. I’ve started to release some deep seated attachments and it’s been a breakthrough feeling and moment for me in so many ways.
I don’t take the connection for granted. There was a time not so long ago where connection to myself, never mind others (except those close to me) felt like a distant memory. I’ve always trusted it would come back. Good things are here and coming ✨

💞A (love) note on Yin
(Thursdays 7.15pm 👇🏽)
When we practice yin yoga, we are not trying to force the depth of a posture. We cannot rush into stillness to find our peace.
Instead we cultivate the embodiment of a central concept of Yin, “Wei Wu Wei”, roughly translated to “action without action” or “effortless doing”.
It’s with our breath, that we can truly practise this ‘effortless doing’.
By softly leaning into the length of our exhale, promoting rest and digest mode, we find extra space in our bodies and minds along with a deep sense of connection and presence.
Here our breath acts as our guiding light into the very core of our practice, our true teacher, revealing our true self.
Yin offers a deep release from our physical & mental tensions that brings us back to centre.
You can join me tomorrow and every Thursday, 7.15pm
