PFI. You were tough, but we learnt a lot.

After qualifying 57th from 61, it was going to be a tough day starting 29th in the heats.

Heat 1. After a full race restart following a red flag, I worked my way up as high as 16th, but inexperience in defence at the hairpins saw me slip back down to P22, which after all the accidents was last of the finishers.

Heat 2. Learnt from my mistakes and made some good overtakes, this time defending them to retain the place. Placed 19th of 27 finishers so much better this time.

My results saw me p43 in the intermediate classification so a definite improvement from qualifying. This gave me a start position of P11 for the B final which I was happy with.

B final - let myself get hung out around the bowl section on the first lap and lost 12 places to 23rd. Got my head down and showed some much improved race craft to make my way back up 16th on the road but unfortunately a nose penalty gave me a final position of P21 and with that the end of racing for the day.

Although the results aren't the best, we're happy with the improvement made over the day, and it all adds to experience and more laps around what is such a difficult track to master against some of the best drivers.

Thanks this weekend goes out to Ben Maxim Driver Development for the driver coaching and making us feel welcome in the team awning.

Difficult day today. For practice it was a choice of go out on my own for laps but have no tow or anyone to learn from, or waste half a session sat in the pits waiting for everyone else to go.

Then we get to qualifying where it's a 3 lap average in a 5 minute session. Most sit and wait till there's just enough time to put 3 laps in but I don't have the consistency at PFI yet to rely on this so went early with a kart to follow for the tow. On the last lap a kart behind us tried to overtake, but knocked me off line, hit the kart in front, and ruined the lap for all 3 of us, affecting the average and costing 5-6 places.

I was never expecting to qualify high up the order, but disappointed to be starting almost on the back row for tomorrow's heats. On the positive it gives me a chance to learn and try to overtake at PFI.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.
