Heartbroken to hear the news that someone has deliberately felled the Sycamore tree in Sycamore gap on Hadrian’s Wall. It’s sat there for hundreds of years, I can’t comprehend why anyone would want to tear it down.

I said yes! 💍👩🏽❤️👩🏼
During an amazing week in Scotland we decided to schlep into Beinn a Bhuird with a rack and camping gear to climb Square Face. Ellen surprised me with a proposal at the top of the route! A very definite ‘yes’ from me then we went and bagged the two munros before returning to the tent, tired and happy. 🥰

Psyched to have got on count’s crack last week! Have looked at it in previous years and been a bit intimidated but it’s absolutely mega. Lower half is a battle for small hands in the wide crack. Suprised Fern Crack has been bumped up to 5a but this is only 4c. Found it harder than Fern Crack and The File. The file is perfect hand jams for me though so maybe Count’s doesn’t feel as bad with big hands.

Throw back to New West Climb on Pillar for my birthday weekend the other week with
The exposure on this is mad for the grade. Reminded me that my favourite kind of climbing is easy exposed mountain multipitch. All the fun and adventure without the head game demons. Biking in from ennerdale and bivvying made it extra special.

Approaching the imposing roof of Zed Climb at Kyloe. Took some psyching up and supportive belaying from to commit to this one! The supposed jugs are a long way away for shorties, ended up cranking on a small edge in the crack, getting a really high foot in the horizontal break below the roof and then blindly bumping on slopers before finding the jug. Contrary to how epic the jugs look on the right hand side of the roof in the photo, the jug on the route was nowhere near as satisfying 😂
Brilliant route non the less and glad I didn’t let it intimidate me. Worth noting that the forestry folk have chopped all the trees down above the crag which makes anchors tricky. Had to find the longest stumps and hope for the best!

Rothley Crack! We drove past this on the way further north and decided we’d have to come back for it on our way back. Did not disappoint! I lead then abbed and stripped so Ellen could lead too. Brilliant crackline that entices you in from the road.
