Late Summer Earth Element Qigong Workshop
Ideal for beginners to Qigong as well as those with previous experience.
Join us for a relaxing and nourishing afternoon exploring the Earth Element and the season of Late Summer through the gentle practices of Qigong, Tai Chi and meditation.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Earth Element is associated with balance, stability, grounding and digestion.
As we move from the energy of summer towards autumn, this is an ideal time to slow down, reconnect with our centre and cultivate a sense of inner calm.
During this 2-hour workshop you will:
Learn a special Earth Element Qigong sequence.
Discover the Five Elements and the qualities of Late Summer.
Practise grounding and centring exercises.
Experience a guided Earth Element meditation. Explore Tai Chi principles for balance and relaxation.
Enjoy traditional Chinese tea and ginger treats during the break.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners and offers a wonderful opportunity to unwind, improve body awareness and connect with the rhythms of the season.
Following the workshop, all participants will receive an emailed Earth Element fact sheet and practical action plan, including seasonal self-care tips and simple practices to continue at home.

🌿 WORLD TAI CHI & QIGONG DAY WEEKEND FESTIVAL 🌿
I’m delighted to invite you all to a special weekend of events on 25th & 26th April to celebrate World Tai Chi & Qigong Day.
On Saturday morning we’ll be in Manor Park, Glossop from 9.30am–12 noon for a public demonstration featuring members of our Start Tai Chi classes — please do come along, bring friends and family, and help us share the benefits of Tai Chi with the wider community.
In the afternoon we have two one-hour workshops:
🪭 1.30pm Tai Chi Fan (£7)
☯ 2.30pm Yin Style 8 Palms Bagua Zhang (£7)
Both sessions are open to everyone — no previous experience required.
On Sunday at Matrix Martial Arts in Hadfield we’ll be running a special two-hour Five Ancient Guardians Qigong and Guided Meditation workshop (£12).
Some prior Qigong practice is preferable for this session.
