It's going to be an amazing opportunity to race against some of the fastest 'Deadly Dozen' athletes in the world and see what I can do.โฃ

The World Champs aren't until 5th September, so my plan over ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ญ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐š ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ . I'll still be training hard, but I want to focus on some solid training blocks without the pressure of preparing for race day every few weeks.โฃ

I've also got a cycling holiday planned with my twin, which I'm very excited about ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธโฃ.

We often talk about the physical demands of training, but it's ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐จ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐ค ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž ๐ญ๐จ๐จ. For me, racing is always in the back of my mind as it means a lot to me, so a break from competition over the summer feels like the right move. โฃ

The goal is to recharge, build fitness, and be ready to fully go for it for the new HYROX season.โฃ

I really didn't want to do it this morning. I'm day 1 of my period which always floors me, but I agreed with Rachel I'd do it as she needed a lift back following her long run ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I ended up enjoying it. It's a tough course with hills. There were also some downhills, but I felt cautious of slipping on the downhills as I wasn't wearing trail shoes, so had to ease off a bit. โฃI enjoyed trying to attack the hills though and felt strong. Decided to power my run with my "Eminem" playlist today which also worked wonders for me.

A seriously tough race in brutal heat conditions. I finished 41 seconds slower than my PB, but honestly Iโ€™m happy with the result given the circumstances. The heat completely changed the race and managing hydration became just as important as fitness.โฃ

Early on I made the decision to keep stopping for water. It cost time, but I wanted to make sure I finished strong โ€” especially after travelling down on the same day...didn't want to DNF. Truthfully, I hardly did any Deadly Dozen-specific training between Leicester and Birmingham because ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐‡๐˜๐‘๐Ž๐— ๐๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐š. I actually wasnโ€™t planning to race DD again so soon, but after qualifying for UK Champs I decided to give it a go
