Yesterday Reddish Vale Golf Club hosted the Mackenzie Society for their first match of the season. The event attracted players from numerous Mackenzie designed clubs across the length and breadth of England. The weather held fair, the course was presented in excellent condition by Aaron and his team, and first class food was provided by Colin and his staff. Everyone enjoyed the day. One visitor had a unique method of rating the courses he played, doing so by deciding how far he would travel to play them. His view of Reddish Vale, "I'd happily drive over one hundred miles to come and play the course again". That must be a true testament to Mackenzie's 1912 quality design and today's presentation. Unofficial sources suggested the home players claimed victory in the match, however the official result was an honourable draw, as always.
