What a weekend for the boys, what an experience and a fantastic effort to boot.

32 teams from all over the UK 100s of boys and girls giving their all for the win. Leven AFC Juniors did all that and some. After topping the group games and playing some fantastic football the boys progressed to the knockout stages.

A quarter final win 6-0 eased the nerves of all the m**s and dads 😂 just in time for a heart in the mouth semi final which the boys won 5-4 on penalties. I don't know how the boys kept their nerve
but that win left two teams, an empty field, one pitch and an ESF U8's final.

Leven AFC Juniors v ON Chenecks Whites.

This was a typical final at any level. Neither team wanted to make a mistake and both teams where tentative and the nerves where evident. However Leven had the early chances and looked to play some of the nice football that got us here.

Some confusion between the linesman and the referee around a free kick opened the door for Chenecks and they took the opportunity well with the free kick making it through the wall and bodies into the bottom corner.

With the total game time being shorter than usual this then give a frantic second half Leven tried everything to move the ball up the pitch with our GK joining in the attacks with the minutes ticking down.
We had further chances and we huffed and puffed playing too quickly for our own good at times.

Boys you can be super proud of yourselves, football can be a mix of agony and ecstacy and we had both this weekend. It's an Amazing achievement to get as far as we did against some very good teams. Us parents are definitely very proud of you all.

Congratulations on your first season in division 1 boys.

You have adapted well and played some Fantastic football against good teams.

Today's game was frantic, end to end at times with the rain pouring down, but the boys played some really good football early in the first half. Overall it was an up and down game with plenty to learn from that ended all square.

Congratulations to our MOTM Huey Appleton. You worked hard at both ends of the pitch and took your goals really well.

Leven AFC Juniors 2 - 2 Great Ayton Juniors

A point gained for the boys today.

A frustrating game with lots of chances for Leven but unfortunately we couldn't take full advantage of some really good build up play.

Great effort from the team though and we took our goals well. We now look forward to the final game of the season.

Our MOTM today is Vinnie Danby, 110% effort from Vinnie today well done, really good game.

Leven AFC Juniors 6 - 1 Wynyard Village.

Chances galore for the boys today, well done on a dominant performance on a tricky surface.

The boys kept doing all the right things adapted to the uneven ground and the chances flowed. A cracking team performance.

Leven AFC Juniors 2 - 11 Leven Athletic.

One to forget for the boys it was a very tough
game. On to the next one now, well done to Leven
Athletic.

Standout in this game was Archie Callaghan and Jake Marshall.

Jake's wonder saves kept us in the game at half time fantastic effort.

Archie's work rate and willingness to get on the ball served him well, great determination, great goal.

Match report from our assistant manager James Marshall.

Leven hosted FC Hartlepool Rockets in a game that took the team past the half way stage of the Spring league campaign.

Leven were gifted the lead within 30 seconds when a back pass to the keeper failed to be cleared and rolled into the Rockets net. Leven then dominated the first half with some great passing movement but it wasn't until the 16th minute that the lead was increased.

Smart work by Aidy down the right hand side resulted in the ball falling at Jake's feet who made no mistake from close range. On the stroke of half time the Rockets got themselves back in the game as they picked the pocket of sweeper keeper Archie with the striker calmly slotting home. 2-1 Leven at the break.

The 2nd half proved a much more even affair. Ralphie was tested on a number of occasions in goal but could not be beat and on 36 minutes Leven sealed the victory. Huey collected the ball on half way and after beating a defender executed a fine finish. Final score 3-1 Leven.

MOM went to Ralphie for some incisive passing in the first half and a clean sheet in goal during the second half to cap a fine allround display.

Leven AFC Juniors 3 - 1 FC Hartlepool Rockets

Great effort from the boys today grinding out a win against a team who defended well.

We took our chances when we could coupled with a bit of good fortune. Another win in this tough league and we look forward to next week.

Thanks to FC Hartlepool for a competitive game.

Well done to our MOTM Ralphie Robinson. A top defensive display and stepped up with a solid GK performance in the second half.
