That’s a wrap for a busy weekend of Dressage for our Autumn Dressage Festival 2026. The glorious weather today made up for the miserable drizzle all day yesterday.

Thank you to all the competitors who supported the event - there was a lovely atmosphere all weekend, with competitors having fun and supporting each other despite some fierce competition for the coveted sashes!

Thanks must go also to our kind sponsors - Ivor Jones & Co Ltd and Amanda Goodman (Goodman King Solicitors) - thanks to them for the lovely rosettes and sashes again this year.

Thanks also to all our judges over the weekend - Leanne, Claire, Nicky, Val, Abi, Zoe & Philippa - writers Val, Nicky, Caroline, Anne, Tracy, Natalie & Laura - my super scorer Monica & helper Caroline - photographer Tanja Davis Photography who was assisted by Summer Equine Photography on Saturday - Zoe and her Mum for our delicious lunches - and of course all the Duchy duty students. Thanks also to Bush Farm Pizza Co and Ales & Tails Bars & Pizza for stepping in as sole caterers each day after our regular caterers were struck down by illness. As usual I was too busy to remember to get any photos!

Volunteers needed for this weekend at our Autumn Dressage Festival!

We need a writer or two for the Sunday this weekend - from 12.50 to 16.45. This could be split into two sessions - 12.50 to 14.30 and 14.40 to 16.45. Please comment here or email me [email protected]. Refreshments provided!

Edit - these slots are now filled - there may potentially be some other slots - Sat 15.00 to 17.45 and Sun 14.15 to 16.00 - just waiting for confirmation!

Jump4Joy Arena XC Challenge - Sunday 27th September - kindly sponsored by Penbode Equine Vets - Tavistock

We are still very low on entries for this event - it has already be rescheduled once. At the moment we don't have enough entries to cover costs - let alone raise money as was planned!

Please get your entries in if you are planning on coming. Arena bookings at the weekends are full for the remainder of this year, so if we have to reschedule again it won't be until 2027!

FLU VACCINATIONS & PASSPORT CHECKS Please note that with immediate effect - ALL HORSES attending ALL events here at Duchy College must be vaccinated against EQUINE FLU.  We will be doing Passport checks of all horses on arrival at events - NO PASSPORT OR LAPSED FLU VACCINATIONS WILL MEAN NO COMPETI...

Times are published for our Autumn Dressage Festival this weekend.

Refreshments will be available from Cornish Maid’s Kitchen, Bush Farm Pizza Co (Saturday) and Ales & Tails Bars & Pizza (Sunday).

Spectators very welcome - tests from Intro right up to Grand Prix both days, with the PSG, Int 1 and GP tests running over the lunchtime period. Why not come down to watch and treat yourself to lunch from the caterers!

Unaffiliated Show Jumping!

After the wonderful job that East Cornwall Show Jumping Club & Julia have done over the last few years - we are now taking over the running of Unaffiliated Show Jumping here at Duchy College. Our first event will be on Saturday 17th October. The schedule is now live on Horse Monkey. Further schedules will be added soon.

On Sundays there will be a limited amount of course hire available, plus sessions with BS Level 3 Coach, Louise Garland Showjumping.

Autumn Dressage Festival

Classes are not yet full for our BD Autumn Dressage Festival on 19th & 20th September so close of entries has been extended. I will review this on a day by day basis this week, but they will definitely close on Thursday 10th September to allow me to finalise times.

In the meantime, our XC schooling fences in the field remain available for booking for a couple more weeks - weekday evenings from 5.30 - 7.30pm and all day at the weekends - book on My Riding Life.

Is there anyone with a Pizza van who would like to come along to the Saturday of our Autumn Dressage Festival? Saturday 19th September. Mainly to provide an alternative to our regular catering van and to stay until the end of the event (probably approx 6.30 pm) to provide an option for an evening meal for those competitors camping on site overnight.
