I borrowed a bike for my first sprint triathlon

Bought a second hand tri suit on Vinted

Breaststroked the swim 😅

I still somehow finished in the top 20 out of 200 women

From that moment, I was hooked

I fell in love with this sport

Yet women are still the minority in triathlon

🏊 Sprint & Olympic: 35–45% women
🚴 70.3: 25–35% women
🏃 Full Ironman: 20–30% women

Imagine how many women are missing out because they think they “can’t”?

Be the change

Maybe the true value of doing hard things isn’t the achievement, it’s the person you become in the process 🫶🏼✨

Solid weekend of training complete🏃🏼‍♀️🚴‍♀️

24km run for 24 weeks deep into Ironman prep 🫡
And a mega 130km ride in the peaks which was a confidence booster after a bad fall 🫶🏼

The hill climbs are still tough but definitley feeling easier than they have been 🙌🏼

Cannot believe it’s only 7 weeks until race day, it’s feeling a lot more real now!

Back from France after completing my second 70.3 at Château de Chantilly 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🇫🇷

I went into this aiming for a sub 6, but races don’t always go to plan 🫣

The mass start swim was a new experience and out of my comfort zone. I panicked and struggled with my breathing, and finishing the 1.9km was a big old mental battle.

The bike course was tough and windy, and the trail run was equally as difficult. I was still feeling the effects of the swim, so I knew I had to pull back, rather than chase the PB.

Completing the race in 6:36 wasn’t what I’d set out to do, but there came a point where finishing safely became the goal. I’m glad I listened to my body and adjusted my expectations instead of trying to force it 🙏🏼

Part of racing well is also knowing your body and respecting its limits ☺️

I’d be lying if I said this race hasn’t knocked me a bit. It was a tough day, and at times it was genuinely scary. But I guess every race teaches you something and there’s plenty to take away from it

I’m proud of myself for driving to France & back, and I’m proud to have finished the race when it felt so tough.

Pure grit
Pure determination
Lots of suffering

I will come back stronger next time 🫶🏼
